It's only courtesy that if someone offers his hand for a shake, one should reciprocate in kind in a pre match ceremony! Refusing shows disrespect both, to his manager who has told him pre match to shake Evra's hand and to the people who supported him and expected him to act gentlemenly. What an idiot! ...respect your view but if you were in suarez's shoes, will you shake hand with someone who accuse you of being racist against him even though your intention wasn't? sometimes, things are not so straight forward as we are not in their shoes. Quote So put yourself in Evra's shoes...someone uses racially abusive language against you (and this has been found by an INDEPENDENT tribunal, who have given their grounds in writing). Yet that person and his club repeatedly and publicly accuse you of being a liar, while you and your club maintain a dignified silence. But all the scrutiny is on you also, and two weeks ago you make a mistake that leads to that rival club beating yours. Then today, you win a vital game against Liverpool, that puts your team back on top of the table. But before the game, the player who abused you rubs it in by refusing to shake your hand, showing you further disrespect. And Evra is WRONG to celebrate with the United fans? It's not like he's run up to Suarez and jumped around in his face. He's celebrating in front of the Stretford End, which is where all the diehard United fans are - as opposed to what Gary Neville did a few years back, when he ran to the corner where the Liverpool fans were to celebrate. As for Suarez walking past BEHIND Evra, that's inevitable because the players' tunnel is in the corner next to the Stretford End. ...clearly, his celebration was deliberate and even fergie acknowledges that he shouldn't have done it. a tick for tack for suarez not shaking his hand. either way, he's still a twat. the media will be having a field day tomorrow :(

Have you read the judgment? The tribunal accepted Evra's version, and gave good and sound reasons for doing so, and based on that there's no way that Suarez's claim that he "didn't mean to be racist" is credible. Or do you believe that Suarez pinched Evra's arm and gestured at his skin during their exchange as an attempt to be friendly? That part, by the way, is clear from the video.

Since you have only heard from the ManU fans, maybe you think they're biased. So please hear this from a super Anti ManU fan who hates the sight of Evra. The pre-game handshake is a gentleman's gesture. Anyone who has participated in competitive sports will know that. Even if that opponent had insulted your mother or raped your dog, you would still do the gentlemanly thing and shake his hand. If anything, it was Evra who should have had the option of not shaking Suarez's hand, after all Evra was the recipient of the racial abuse. That Evra proffered his hand to Suarez showed that he was good enough to see beyond the incident and get on with it. Suarez had NO EXCUSE for not shaking Evra's hand. None at all! I'm even surprised the ManU players didn't give Suarez any "special" treatment on the field, like following through with a tackle to take out his legs. I'm sure if Keano were around he would have done that. By refusing Evra's handshake, in fact leaving Evra hanging like that, it was really an act of war. I don't see how anyone can condone that at all. I have to agree with Fergie: Suarez was a disgrace.
silencer13 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 But let's remember the more important thing for tonight: THIERRY HENRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yellowhandman Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Such a good move he decided to repeat it.
yellowhandman Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 What are Newcastle doing? Certainly not defending...
silencer13 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 They're getting mauled by Spurs. :o :o :o
yellowhandman Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 The problem for Spurs is that if they thrash Newcastle 10-0, it will just increase the calls for Redknapp to be made England manager...

landis1 Posted February 11, 2012 Author Posted February 11, 2012 if i may be blunt about it: some lie that resulted in a travesty eight match ban and you still want to shake his hand. that is so spineless ;D
DIYer Straits Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Haha! 5-0 Barcodes splintered by an amazing performance by a loaner. Man of the Match Ade! "We want you to stay! We want you to stay! Harry Redknapp, we want you to stay!" reverberated around the stadium. Suarez? He kicked our Scottie on his first game and behaved like an uncouth youth in the one vs MaUn.

You still think he is an angel on the field ::). Come on, he was suspended for both fighting with his teammate and 7 yellow cards in a season. Worse, he bit his opponent on the shoulder and received 7 games suspension and was branded 'cannibal of Ajax'!!!!!! :P. Really, he is loose cannon and a disrespectful one, I may add. As Red Nose says, KD should sack him before he brings down the name and glory of Liverpool.
