Looks really nice. Great effort!

I especially like your commitment to the cause by giving up the windows.

Does it mean that you would have to move the screen if you need to access anything behind the screen?

Very neat and nice.  :)

Wondering where are the 4xERD-1s mounted?

Remacro got do acuostically transparent screen? The micro perf kind? Whats the damage like?

superb! envy you :D

Very very cool! Thats a really nice implementation. Can't beat a wall-to-wall picture.

Shame the budget didn't allow for wide and high spkrs, but its nice to have something to upgrade to later :D Most people can't fit them easily but some in wall spkrs would be good for the sides and of course height ones are easy for you. But I guess an AVR upgrade will be needed too.

Speaking of which, how's the Anthem? I didn't even know it was available locally, what made you go for that one as opposed to the usual brands? Is the only deep bass treatment to be done by the AVR or do you have some bass traps sequestered away somewhere.

Do you have a dehumidifier? Just wondering really as alf didn't recommend a AT screen on account of our weather but I guess as mine is in the living room it was difficult to control things as opposed to a dedicated living room.

When's the open house party? ;)

Thank guys . A lot of planning n effort has been done to ensure the media room is built to specs , Peng n Nicholas has been helpful in making this happen . The side surround is hidden at the side wall .As for the Anthem I was lucky to get it from a fellow bro . As for now just doing up fine tunning n getting used to the sound . The next upgrade could be adding another mbm , antimode eq n emotiva xpa 1 to power the center spks .

The screen can be shifted out for maintenance but require 2 manpower . As this is a custom screen , I got a special price from Peng at $2k plus plus . Cannot afford brands like Smx , Stewart , screen research therefore  need to settle for Remaco .

I have tried Denon , Onkyo & Yamaha , but did  not like the sound as compare to Anthem .

The bass trap is hidden behind the screen, side wall diffuser n ceiling all hidden by behind the fabric., Also with the help of the eq to tame the bass .I did approach Alf unfortunately at point of time he did not produce AT Screen . Just to add in with the AT screen really enhance my movie level.

Congrats for a job well done! :)

Really neat and nice!

Very nice indeed. I think you had better get a PA to help organize viewing sessions ;).

Thank you Civiguy. Avs forum is a good place for ideas . ;D

Bro Sdds, mind sharing more pics and how this setup was done (size of the room, wall material, cable running, how to access front speakers & subs for maintenance or upgrading, etc).  I believe it will benefit a lot of forum bros, especially those who have dedicated rooms for HT, ;D

Will post more photos later , during the construction stage ( very messy ) .The project actually took around 2 mths to complete . As I have a tight budget , got to squeeze between equipment n room treatment . As for room treatment I engage Nicholas services , to do the room measurement n do up the room diffuser n bass trap , cost me around $3k plus . My room size 3.3 m by 4.3m .Wall material just normal fabric if those bro need more info can contact NIcholas . As for cables , I am using all emotiva cables which I bought during the sale . For the screen n material I got a lot help from Peng . He is nice enough to advise n spending his time fine tunning the screen ratio which is not easy .Most important is not to over damp the room , making it too dead . Need to balance between live n dead with the help of diffuser n bass trap . By the way my room is not sound proof but only treated to overcome those nasty peaks .

Awesome bro, didn't remember the sides from the room treatment thread. My bad. :D

Remaco make very good screens! The trouble with Stewart etc is that the value-for-money factor takes a sharp dive- though there is a clear difference I can't help thinking that I wouldn't really appreciate it when concentrating on the movie :)

Your pic got me excited- I was visualising a 3m wide AT 2.35:1 screen in my living room just now. Ha ha!!

I really like the tidyness of ur setup. When I did mine in the living room, my wife said no visible wires or speaker boxes to knock over as we have small kids. If your AT screen works well then it'll give me more freedom when I do a HT makeover LOL! I've always wanted the ability to properly adjust my spkrs' positioning and perhaps bigger ones.

Would be interested to know your thoughts on Denon vs Onkyo vs Anthem. Its so hard to evaluate a AVR as its v  v difficult to be able to audition it with the Emo spkrs- but it sounds like you got the matching right.

Any idea what freq your bass trap is targeting? I notice your mentioning the antimode so I guess some of the lower freq weren't fully addressed.

Hi Bro Jimi,

Will also post some pics on the side surround speakers. My room not big enough for a curve screen otherwise it would be great ,plus some motorised curtain  for masking would be perfect.Maybe you can do that for your living hall . Luckily for me , my wife was very supportive  ;D .I Try my best to conceal all the cables as much as possible and also try not to mix cables with power cord . As for AT sceen to work well , you need some distance at least 3.5 m plus but depend the size of the screen .Placing the speakers and subwoofer behind the screen was also another tricky process as one need to ensure the screen does not vibrate due to the speakers n subwoofer . The antimode is used to address the Hsu  mbm , hopefully will get that before Chinese new year.

Thanks for all the info bro sdds, very useful, will mark this thread for future reference, ;D

Yup, I'm wondering how to prevent screen from rippling with speakers placing behind it, and how to access speakers? The screen is fix type, right?

Bro Keai,

Are you also thinking of following SDDS footstep to reconfigure your HT? :)

Cheers.

p.s.  Bro SDDS, nice setup!  Wish I had a dedicated room for HT/HiFi too :)

The screen is fixed type just like your normal fixed screen only is acoustical transparent. In order to hold the screen n withstand the vibration caused by the subwoofer .The frame is tighted onto the floor and glued with down to prevent any movement , with additiona support .Hopes this helps  ;D
