If U r looking for small bookshelves that sound great, I will recommend U the ALR/Jordan Enty Si instead.

Compared with this, the Si is smaller in size, cheaper, easier to drive (8Ohms, 87dB) & most likely sound better too. (I am guessing as I have not heard the Malt)  ;D

Try the Usher X-719/70 or RW-729, then voice the xover to your taste. Confirm no horse run. Get from Taiwan if you are going there, double confirm no horse run compared to all speakers mentioned here. Scanspeak for below 1k. Catch is, going to Taiwan.  :)

I think I go honeymoon, die die need to carry 1 set back.

oh? $1099? I thought I saw $1900 last time when they first launched, maybe I remembered wrongly liao haha.

I didn't know it's "limited edition". But I'm wondering if the demand is able to match the supply lol, 3 months per pair for SG, I think they probably can't even sell more than 2 pairs a month....

Where to look for it in Taipei? Rw-729 and the X-719 should be above 1k??

And I think both weigh more then 30kg to carry back??

Brudder, me going honeymoon dah....2 persons. Why can't check it in? My sister's luggage from the states was nearly 50kg total after 2 years there, 2 big boxes. To avoid being charged for the luggage she had to ship via sea (4 months) a 80kg package. In fact 4 of my family members are already there now, easily can check in 2 pairs.

But not nice to ask my elderly mum and father lar.

I am not about sure the price now, but I believe S520 glossy was going for about 200 bucks only, normal one lI heard like what $150?

PS. Have to clarify that it is "closely engineered", not exactly Scanspeak.

Eg, the tweeter Usher 9950 (R2094/9500) is only $67. It is like Burberry Blue Label vs the London counterpart?

"9300" lagi better, 30 over bucks nia.

Cheap thrill lar.

The allowance for baggage from the States is 2 X 70lbs  ;)

I heard the sound of Pioneer Pure Malt Speakers during Sight & Sound Show. The sound was amazing. The bass was tight and I thought they were using subwoofer. So I asked the staff.  Of course, no subwoofer was used.  :)

Yeah, rubber band weight for US carrier. At least for her coz she travels like siao. SIA, forget it, and so much lower.

PE's shipping is pretty good. But no point getting the cheap stuff lar....shipping much more than the parts.

Not sure if Taiwan vendor will sell you drivers.

From US other than PE, can try Zalytron and Euphase audio. Zalytron often has close out pricings that are eye popping. Drop them an email, webby is not often updated.

EU, can forget it, end up more expensive than Scanspeak with the killer prices and shipping.   ;D
