Got this today.

It is hard to believe that the mature soprano voice comes from such a sweet young lady. She is phenomenal!

  • My recent finds.   The Ken Burns 5 cd set looks interesting. I believe it is the soundtrack from the documentary on Jazz.

  • Exercised some self control this visit to the local...... only 5 purchases. The John Mayer is actually a 5CD pack with all the album in book form, Continuum and Try! (Mayer/Steve Jordan/Pino Palladino

  • Latest 2 franc bin haul. Bit of everything, ECM, jazz, 90s indie and 80s classics.

Superb recording if u are willing to compromise for not able to afford the vinyl.

heard the 3 blind mice LP recording of Tsuyoshi Yamamoto Trio –  Misty at modular audio and then when i went back home, I realise I have the particular track by them in cd

Anyway better than nothing ;D

The new Airborne Toxic Event was surprisingly better than their debut.

Anyone bought Tori Amos' 'Night of Hunters'? Any review?

went to that cd sop and pick this up..  :D

havent listen to it though... :-[

This is what I got yesterday from Singpost.

xi-beh good unplugged performance...  ;)

Just got this..pretty amazing

After Johnny English I pop into Gramo and picked up these. I only know I really wanted Corrinne May but with that I had to pick up 2 others to get e CM at $17. Embrace turned out to be damn brilliant!! If u like Coldplay big melodies and guitar riffs, u r going to get a kick out of this. In fact, Coldplay wrote one of e song in there, Gravity... shweet!  Edie Brickell?  I only know one song, Good Times but i think I can't go wrong with an Ultimate Collection

Gramo pricing is very weird - u can pick up smth that says 50% off and then u may find e exact same cd somewhere else that says an even cheaper price. The whole one hour I was there, I was e only dude who visited e cashier... Really sad man

PS - this morn's weather is e perfect to listen to Hifi with a book. Embrace sounded great. Edie Brickell is fantastic - I had no idea that she sang some amazing tunes from yester years. It's a remastered disc at 96/24 and immediately from e first strum on a guitar it sounded superb. Corrinne May, I fear e most so I play it last. It's a Sing press and as usual it is so bright and e soundstage so tinee weene, it sux but what to do... The music is so so nice tho... The way she sings 'imbecile' on Angel In Disguise is so sexy

Bro, you sure Corrinne May have SACD ? Can't seems to find even in the SA-CD.net list.

Bro, I never said Corrinne May has SACD hehe... We all sacd siao Liao hehe

Wah lao eh, thought I miss something. How's the new Corrinne May CD ? Nice ?

I wrote down some observations in my original post  ;)

Bro WEB, I rank Embrace's Gravity as one of the my personal fave songs ever, together with Snow Patrol's "Run". Epic and melancholic, that's the way I like my music! But what I don't understand is why you bought it locally when you can get a used UK pressing from Amazon UK's marketplace for 4 quid only inclusive of postage.

Anyway, let's enjoy some music tomorrow night bro!

Ah that's easy to answer... Embrace is UK pressed and cost $9.95!!  I was listening to e album and thinking e entire album would sound amazing LIVE!! It has that BIG melody-feel and infectious choruses. I can't believe it's a 2004 album and they didn't become massive from that.  Run is superb too. Check out Leona Lewis' cover of this  ;)

Yeah man... Tmr night. Other than Tapestry u want to listen to anything else?  Please remind me I wanna ask u 2 questions - computer music and crossover freq ;)

BTW anyone ordered Nirvana remasters? Reviews pls!

the only other song that i like on the embrace album is keeping

but it is totally different with snow patrol's third album. i think final straw is absolutely brilliant. if you like run, you should check out the other just as massive songs on the album if you have not. in my opinion, songs like how to be dead, spitting games and chocolate are their best efforts to date. i am hooked on grazed knees too. this album is a great effort by snow patrol. the moody vocals on run reminds of another group the beloved ;D

for your information, final straw was on repeat in my mp3 player for quite a while ;D

Niceeee.... Snow Patrol's Final Straw is on a m-Ch SACD  :o

Picked up these last nite at Cash Converter  ;)

Nice one WEB, I was at Cash COnverter Bedok yesterday, and picked up like 7 CDs there :)

Post pic bro  :o

Guys, if you happen to be in Yokohama, do not miss going to Recofan, CD addicts onl.... :D

Look at the pricing..... :)

Some recent acquisitions from Cash Converter @ Bedok. Shania Twain is for my wife. The Commitment soundtrack is simply brilliant, just like the movie. Going The Distance soundtrack is actually from Music Junction. Bro WEB, you'll like this one. Full of indie gems, especially the 2 tracks by Boxer Rebellion.

From Amazon UK:

And one of my most anticipated CD of the year just arrived today.

Niceee  ;D. Who says Cash Converter only has crap?!?  I already have Boxer Rebellion's entire catalog (3 only la).  Agreed with u on The Commitments soundtrack. Simply brilliant!! At one time, Mustang Sally was on repeat for e whole week for me!  There's a second volume for it too. I also love e movie by Alan Parker... IMHO this ranks up there with Almost Famous, movies abt rock/soul music!

Is that Chris Issak's Heart Shaped World?  Wicked Games is e sexiest song ever IMHO. I read somewhere this album was supposed to be given e DVD audio treatment but at e last minute, SACD won e big battle and e hi-rez plan for it was thrown out. What a shame...  :'(

Vonda Shepherd must be becoz of e recent thread eh  ;) and Expose... A blast from e past. Their 12" remix of a "I-can't-recall-what-song-at-this-very-minute" is just sublime. I have this... Can lend u

Bro, I will pass u Shania Twain greatest hits when we meet up to listen to a 6-figure Hifi system (or is it 7-fig)  ;)

Oh Man... I want to go Bedok CC  for a treasure hunt haha

I think of all the Cash Converters that I frequent, Bedok seems to have the most goodies. Was in Chinatown's CC the other day, and it's total crap.

It's been a long time since I heard Chris Isaak's Wicked Game. Sublime man. Vonda Sherperd - I have the first CD with the song "You Belong To Me", sweet, so it's a no brainer at $5. And I bought Expose only for the song "I'll Never Get  Over You Getting Over Me". Sentimental reasons...hahaha. And we share the same sentiments about The Commitment. Vol 2 was actually available at Bedok, was holding on to too many, forgot to pick it up! There's a copy of Arcade Fire's Neon Bible there too, if you don't have it.

Got a lot of music lover in Bedok...

I already have Boxer Rebellion's entire catalog (3 only la).

Bro, the 2 Boxer Rebellion tracks is not on any of their CDs :)
