Hi all i am new here, any advice or comments please feel free to speak. Thank you.

I am looking for experts who live in West area in Singapore to help me audition my audio setup as i did afew MOD on Amp and Speakers but i don't know if its the right tone or tune.

And hope to know after my MOD does it hit the expectation of those high ends setup.

But of course to know more friends of the same hobby and to learn from them as i am still a beingnner.

My humble HT and audio setup in my room.

Due to small space in room I am unable to use floor stander as main L/R.

So far I am happy with the sound quality if you notice most of my equipment is very old in age.

Dear all... I have just changed my Power Amp from Chord to Mcintosh. Currently using Mcintosh MC2600. All I can say it is a huge difference. Now I am getting better Soundstage, more depth, bolder sound and deeper bass. It is not that the Chord is not good, it is just that the Mcintosh suits better, just as all having the old JBL would say... Have also switched my Vishnu on my Pre to Nordost Eldorado p/c. My Denson sound better with it. Will update the pics soon....Cheers...

That is an awesome system bro!  I've heard your speakers with Clearaudio innovation/Miyajima Shilabe beautiful cymbal splashes from the Acapella.

Oh btw, my good friend makes good stuff. Check it out.

Oops sorry char siu pau! Missed your reply! Your friend's page has some very nice boats there. Making boats and ships has been my hobby ever since I was a teenager. Of course, back then it was plastic model kits. These days it's wooden boats - SO much more complex and time consuming. The boat pictured above is the HMS Bounty, built from an Artesania Latina kit. I got fed up of work and took a year off - it took me almost the whole year to complete the kit, working on it for several hours a day! So yes it is very special to me. I am not likely to work on something like that again until I retire!

BTW the quest continues. Over the weekend I had a look inside the horn cabinet (not an easy task, given that it is bloody heavy and full of sand!!). The intention is to rip out the internal crossover and run the horn fully active.

Bro Keith_W,

You forgotten to post this close-up...

HMS Bounty as in Mutiny on the Bounty?  Nice work and some patience there.  What active crossover are you going to use?

I've tried the vintage Heathkit and the Audio Research.  It's ok, but I prefer driving my horns full range.

jmohd I see you found my system on Audiogon :)

char siu pow I am using a Marchand XM-44 solid state crossover. What horns are you using? Is your system listed on Xtremeplace?

Keith,

Not listed yet on Xtremeplace coz still evolving, but I'm using the Azura 204hz replica with Lowther PM4a and Altec 515e bass reflex bins.  I see the Marchand tube crossovers get sold on audiogon faster than I can say the word active crossover.  ;D

char siu pau very nice!!! Are you in Singapore? That is a huge listening room that you have!

I have a couple of friends close by who have Azura horn based systems as well.

Bro, I only come back to S'pore for vacation, I live in the USA.  Enjoy your Acapella Violons' man!  That is one bad ass speakers.  ;D

I decided to do something different and make a video of my equipment. It's not exactly Oscar award winning material, so you have been warned that you will never get this 10 mins of your life back ;).

I recorded it in HD, so play it in full screen to get your dose of HD goodness. Most of the scenes I recorded in a single take. This means there is some rambling, a few weird use of words and I missed my DAC lol!

Good presentation, I like it, thanks.

Thanks!

I might do some more on some of my components, like the UMC-1, but I need to get some decent video editing software and work out the sound issues haha :).

Thanks for the video.  Very educational.  I learnt a few things.
