Further information: High End USB cable. I'm not the original owner, I bought it from another member. The outer sheath had a split in it which had previously been repaired/covered for protection, it doesn't affect the flexibility or performance of the cable. I've no idea what the box is or how it works but it's quite substantial & feels pretty special when you plug it in...and it just looks cool! Pickup is welcome however I will offer free postage if preferred.
