Hi,

Anyone have any direct experience with a Hana EL fitted to a SME 3009 s2? (Removable head shell)

any comparisons to the Shure V15 111? I’m guessing it would be a nice step up? I’m chasing a bit more warmth.

Thanks

I have heard a Hana SL on a 3009 on a LP12. It was a decent pairing but the 3009 S2 is an extremely light tonearm and the Shure V15 III might be a better match in regards to resonance.

The original 3009 would be more desirable.

Edit: Is your 3009 SII the improved or non-improved version?

To be honest I don’t know, just that it has a removable headshell

Nothing is easier than adding weight to the headshell, subtracting it is a different matter.

I have heard the SL on that tonearm and it sounded decent. If there was any resonance issues you could potentially add some mass to the headshell as mentioned above.

Thanks Chris.

Having checked the weight and tracking force of the Hana vs the Shure, I see I'm potentially 2g lighter with the Hana
