I purchased this excellent condition Alchemist Forsetti about 3 months ago from a well respect SNA member that owned it since new. He also had it thoroughly serviced by Tim Wilkinson of Tuned In Audio who replaced nearly all the caps with upgraded ones and some resistors. Capacitors alone cost $300. It has the optional output protection boards fitted as well. When I first received the unit via road courier and powered it up, I noticed that the sound from the right channel was noticeably louder than the left. I sent it to my preferred repairer Mark @ Brisbane Electronics and he came back advising that some resistors in the pre-amp section had failed, so these were replaced, the unit soaked tested and then I picked up. Also of note is that original factory remote control had failed and the original owner had sourced an aftermarket remote control and had it programmed to provide the same volume and mute functions as per the original unit.
Truly an audiophile grade integrated, highly detailed and with amazing level of transparency. It is also highly musical with amazing sense of timing, seductive midrange and walk through soundstage. Rated at 100 watts per channel into 8ohms, it will drive just about any speaker and sounds great when played on my Dynaudio Contours for the month or so.
PLEASE NOTE ! This fine amplifier was never fitted with the optional plug-in MM phono board ( as seen or more like not seen in the last uploaded photo where I've marked in RED on the amp's mainboard where the plug-in board
would be situated if it had been fitted ).
Sadly, I'm caught in situation where I need to sell this amplifier to help fund some more pressing circumstances.
The original owner/seller of this amplifier had previously described it as Mint Condition, but I'm a much harder grader of equipment and describe it as excellent as there are some minor marks on the top plate of the amplifier that appears to have been caused by another component having rested on top of this device at some stage of its earlier ownership.
My firm asking price is what I paid for the amp & courier cost.
