JA Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Quote has anyone bought these resistors or know of a supplier .Cheers .[/b] Hello 56, I hope all is well for you- unfortunately we didn't catch up last week- maybe next time. There are bulk metal foil resistors available from RS components. They look like a small piece of choclate I suppose. Mohan uses the 25W ones I believe. All RS components resistors: http://www.rsaustralia.com/cgi-bin/bv/rsww...e&Nr=avl:au All Their Vishay: http://www.rsaustralia.com/cgi-bin/bv/rsww...e&Nr=avl:au Best JA
56oval Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 Hello JA I didn't go to Mohan's had dayshift on the Friday with a 0630 start . The Vishay naked S102's were made for NASA there not incapsulated there is a S102 similar to the Caddocks. Are Mohans similar to these which are Caddocks MK132 & MR930 Cheers.

They are also designed with a flat partial aluminium base for heat transfer. RS has plenty of caddock stuff though. I couldn't find the s102 vishay- although I saw others. Best JA
56oval Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 Thanks JA They look like surface mount resistors normally found on PCB's. I use the Caddock MK132 & MR930,s I find them neutral very good in digital ciruits and pre-amps. I want to use the Naked S102 in the IV position in the dac.

56oval Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 it uses a valve buffer 6C45pi in Mundorf silver/oil caps. cheers. I changed the GE 5v4 rec's to brimars 5v4 rec's and took the sound to another class.
56oval Posted June 22, 2007 Author Posted June 22, 2007 Found the supplier for the naked TX2352 vishay resistors http://www.texascomponents.com/ these resistors were made for NASA .

joz Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Hi 56,looks like some nice handywork of yours there. Not that I really know what I'm looking at
56oval Posted June 22, 2007 Author Posted June 22, 2007 Joz it's 15kg's of DAC . JA I think you have heard the standard version at Mohan's it was built by Scott Thomson . All the left side & half way up the right is power supply designed buy BlackArt Audio This what it looked like orignally but I already changed caps & resistors. I have 1 more Dac to modify with power supply upgrade ,I was looking at changing to output trannys instead of caps. cheers.
56oval Posted July 7, 2007 Author Posted July 7, 2007 Got a price back on the TX2352 resistor's 1.0% tolerance $6.95 usd each which is a good price for the quaulity.
