Dunno the mods. Never had anything to do with them. But how on earth could you lock a thread that shows some community spirit from the AV forumites that have shown compassion and empathy for someone who clearly has had an impact on the forum. We all have ups and downs and blades position in life shows how vulnerable we can all be from having an awesome HT to losing it all. I know it might be mildly "off topic" but was doing no one any harm and supporting a guy that reached out to us.

What has this forum come to if we can't be a supportive group for one and all.

Thanks all. I found it particularly puzzling as to why it would be closed. There was no OT so I just posted there.

Haven't been here since late 2013 and it seems some things haven't changed unfortunately.

Know though that I appreciate the support here and on other social media.

To the MODS I hope you are never in my position and crave some simple humanity. Abraham Lincoln once said "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power..."

Since threads of this nature really are off topic, they should be in the appropriate Off Topic section... which is why a forum like this should have one.

Well TCC certainly would like to lend their support, and hope that both Blade and Mrs Blade recover and find better times!

Coming out of hibernation to lend my support to Blade. Tough times but will turnaround I'm sure. Some people will never know what it's like to sleep peacefully. A fancy car won't compensate that. Cold comfort from where you stand I'm sure. I feel for you my friend sounds like you put everything into this, having a go to better yourself and family only to find yourself in the cruelest of circumstances through no fault of your own. Keep the chin up you never know what's around the corner and as long as you have your health your still in front. I wish you well.

It was OT but considering the context I did not delete the thread - trusting members would use the PM to communicate.

While there are supporters of the OT area (from both sides of the fence), it was a nightmare to moderate and generated bad blood between senior members and risked de-railing the whole forum (including threats of legal action for defamation of character).

OT will not be reopened so no need to debate it in this the HT set-ups section of the forum as, you guessed, it is OT.
