Well, apologies for that.

Here's what happened:

- 9:45PM received a "Hey, your site is moving" email

- 10:32PM received a "Hey, your site is moved" email

- DNS was updated, hence the progressive outage for people who had already been looking (at this point there were two functional servers)

- Got some alerts and some SMS' from users (thanks guys)

- Had a look, and the entire file tree was "missing"

- Out of the 5 sites automatically moved, one site worked (brilliant)

Anyhow being Americans, our times are out of whack so it took a while to get a hold of someone who could fix them. We reverted DNS overnight to the old server, whilst the data copy grabs whatever has been missed.

Upshot of it all is that the new site (when copy is completed) should have more resources, speed - and hopefully put an end to the "on the hour outage" some have reported.

I had a hard time adjusting to not being able to access this website for 24 hours.

I remember this too....there was a parallel site, that I was taken to quite inadvertently.....same time as the GB for the Oppo 83...it was all hush-hush and clandestine...but great fun!! Nothing happened, obviously!!

Hello,

Long story short is that the hosting provider is going through an upgrade (bigger, better, faster). Their automation failed, our "to be done" migration happened at the wrong end of the queue, and their Rsync failed between the servers before they flicked the switch.

They can't revert it to where it came from, so they have had to reinitiate the copy (of which there is considerable data).

Hoping the crazy Americans will sort shortly, but they are aware of their stuff up.
