The 1909 has a FULL Audyssey package, the Intagra does not,BUT the Intafra has 4 HDMI inputs and the Denon has 3 HDMI.

The 2309 looks a better buy.

Cheers.

Thornton.

PS the Krix is a good choice.

SH*T,I wish I could get either model for that price in Sydney.

Thanks mate. How much do the denon 2309 go for?

I really would like that Audyssey function as i hate it when the adds are really loud.

The best price for Denon 2309 is about $1600

You can get the Onkyo706 (same features as the Denon) for $1500 in Sydney.

Melbourne prices seem to be cheaper.

I too wish pull the trigger soon also. I see some good specials coming up to June 30.

I have nailed it down to the following for my Klipsch set up,

Denon 2309

Denon 789

Integra 5.9

Marantz 5003/6003

My old Yamaha is a touch bright when playing music with my Klipsch speakers. Are the Denon amps good for music?

IMHO,the Denon 2309 is probably the best featured of that group, but is also the most expensive, full Audyssey set-up and 4 HDMI's,and supossedly a very musical AVR

Good shopping.

Hey guys. Ive been doing heaps of research and looking around for an AMP to drive the new speakers i picked up last week Jamo S506HCS speaker pack... i have a budget of up to arounds 2thousand. The shortlist i have so far is as follows:

- Pioneer Sc-Lx71/81

- Denon 2309/2809

- Yamaha v1900/v3900

- Onkyo 706/806

My main question is what would be the current best choice for my speaker setup? Im relatively noobish when it comes to this stuff :-) But i do have a good understand of it all just still learning.

Thanks in advance for help!

I'm no expert, but with your Jamo speakers I reckon the Yamaha v1900 is your best option. My local JB had a ticket price of $1,880.

I reckon you would be able to do better than that.

i'd take the lx71 over the yammie any day of the week....
Why ?

I did...... but it was mainly a price based decision and that the application wasn't used in my primary system.

I did audition it for a bit though and was very impressed by it's capabilities. ;)

for me it was about authority of sound, looks - and I needed an amp that would run cool in a relatively confined space. Because of the pio's ICE amps, this is no probs.

it's just a step above the yammie in build quality too - try mucking about with the fascia and knobs - and you'll notice.

Ok guys as per what i said in the other LX71 thread:

OK guys just got off the phone to a Pioneer Australia Rep. She said that the Pioneer SC-LX71 is now Sold out/Discontinued and any remaining stock is going towards filling any remaining BACK ORDERS and that's about it. She said it would prove rather difficult to find a brand new one around anywhere in Aussie.

So my question is now out of the other three choices i had listed which would be best bet?

can anyone else offer any more opinions/advice on the subject of which amp i should get for these jamo speakers?

Have you considered the integra 6.9/7.9 over the onkyo 706/806??

I havn't had a chance to compare them but supposedly the integras are of a much better build quality offering the same features...

There is a Denon 2309 on ebay at the moment for $1590... is that a good price?

Regards,

James

No, when you can buy a brand new Denon 789/1909 for around $1,000. If you don't need the extra HDMI input then the 2309 and up are really just a waste of money.

Check AVS forums for a reality check on "wasting" money on more expensive amps.

Be careful of getting advice from forum users who have already wasted their money - they seem to post endlessly to justify their past purchases.
