Chung Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 (edited) Heya all, I first connected my PS3 to my M8 via HDMI, and M8 to Sammy Home Theatre TX35 via optical to get the 5.1 experience. After half an hour, there was a discernible sound lag or sync problem so I tried connecting the PS3's audio directly to the TX-35 via optical and and M8 via HDMI but there's no sound. I'm not too sure which forum this has to be posted in as I can't seem to determine where the problem lies. I had a look under the PS3's sound settings and set the audio output to optical but to no avail. The Sammy HT-TX35 is known to have an inevitable sound lag which Samsung denies its existence hence my decision to connect the PS3 directly to the TX35 via optical. Is there something amiss? Thanks in advanced. Regards, Chung Edited October 23, 2007 by Chung
Anthony123 Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 isn't it better to leave all ur sound through HDMI if u have it and not optical.... higher bandwidth right?
Chung Posted October 23, 2007 Author Posted October 23, 2007 (edited) Heya! I share your sentiments but I'm not sure if my current setup would allow that. My home theatre only supports up to 1080i output via HDMI for its DVD playback. If I connect my PS3 directly to the TX35 via HDMI, and the TX35 to the M8 via HDMI, would I still get native 1080p output to the M8? I might try it out. Regards, Chung Edit = I've just had a look and there's only one HDMI out connection which is connected to the tv. There's no HDMI input, only Optical and Component. Edited October 23, 2007 by Chung
