Yep - for those who haven't already stolen downloaded it.

I'd been forgetting to point this news out earlier, (a guy can get stuck in the O/T section and never make it out again for weeks!), so thanks to Dave for alerting everyone. Ten certainly has done their best to avoid promoting their best show!

what season is it?

Season 5, episode 1, "Extraction" - which aired in the US over a YEAR ago.

Still, at least they're using the 16:9 widescreen version.

i forgot about ch. BT.

Those who didn't saw this episode a good 12 months ago and are eagerly awaiting the start of season 6 in April

Some would thank channel Ten for acting so pathetically, and forcing their hands.

All I can say is, Season five was indeed amazing, and season six is so popular that some would say the download speeds are astronomical! (Of course, I couldn't possibly say that.)

What I will say, is that I haven't watched anything apart from the F1 on Ten since they dropped the Shield, and there's no reason to watch now.

I miss the shield..... will have to 'look into it' .... haven't seen season 5... maybe the first episode ....

but hang on ... channel 10 is bringing quality programming like big brother, big brother live, big brother uncut, big brother & your sister, big brother big looser.... what else you want??? :D

great programming line channel 10 .... no wonder they are getting their butts kicked by 9 & 7 .....

I heard Michael Chiklis was fronting the Logies as a special international guest.

I wonder how he'll be introduced?

"Star of the popular BT show, The Shield, Michael Chiklis", perhaps? :P:P:P

or maybe

"Start of the show Ten wont show, Michael Chiklis" :D

Now that is comedy gold!

I wonder what the main reason is that he's coming out? Can't be the Logies as Australian television doesn't screen The Shield. They've just nabbed him while he's here, perhaps on a trip to promote the DVD box sets for Sony.

Or perhaps he's out here as Vic Mackie on orders to hunt down and terminate the thousands of fans who "illegally" download the show every week. That, or to congratulate them for their tenacity :D

When I saw this post, I thought "The Shield" really was "back" again, but of course it isn't.

Best show of its type I've ever seen. I remember the first episode-Vic was chasing a guy, caught him & gave him a good beating-might have even given him a little touch of the boot as well!!-I remember thinking then, in these days of "correctness" & "anti-violence" etc etc, WOW-Haven't seen a show like this, for a while!

Every episode was awesome-simply can't understand channel 10, especially as the show rates so well in the US.

Cheers, GTO.

It was back, but then it got tenned canned.

If you like The Shield, you would probably like The Wire (dunno whether you've seen it or not - Nine has run it in the middle of the night from time to time). The good news on that front is the new series was green-lighted, I believe.

Might have some thing to do with Fantastic Four 2?

Ah, that would explain it. I didn't even know there WAS a new FF movie. But then, I have about as much time for this pathetic idea-deprived glut of comic-book remakes as I do for Eddie Murphy films
