Cbl25 Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Hi guys wondering if you can tell me the best way to do this, I have media centre which is connected to my set top box and would liek to burn my recordings in the future, currently it saves as "Microsoft recorded Tv show"not sure what file this is but im planning to use Nero to burn this onto a DVD, hopefully this will work....Is this the best option for me? Will it work? Is there something better or easier and most importantly save more space? Thanks for your help, Chris
ajm1503559545 Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 A few Q's How is the STB connected to the PC - what sort of output/input/connector? What software are you using to create "Microsoft recorded TV show"? What type of DVD are you wanting to make? Do you want to make a DVD playable on any DVD player or just store the file as a data file to playback on the PC only? Fill in some gaps and you might get a reasonable answer. FWIW have you considered installing a DTV PCI card in the PC and recording directly to the PC HDD? Recording and conversion from there is a little more straightforward.
Cbl25 Posted June 23, 2006 Author Posted June 23, 2006 thanks for da reply...s set top box is connected via dell tv tuner through the av cables (red, white, yellow) and im uising media center to watch and then record directly and yea i was interested in makin a playable dvd on any dvd player thanks for da help dude
ajm1503559545 Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 In dat case da answer is dead easy dude since you're only dealing wid an analogue input. Use a DVD authouring package like Ulead DVDStudio. It will capture da live TV input den you can make da DVD in a separate process. dude.
