Can I blame Firefox?

Usually, that may be the case, however I tried it with Internet Explorer at the time I got the error (thinking it was a Firefox thing) but that too received an error.

I wonder if it's a search engine bot eating up all the DB connection handles.

Or someone with a lot of tabs open in Firefox that likes to hit "reload all tabs"

(I don't do it anymore... I've learnt my lesson, as I accidentally brought down a site by doing that)

Just got the error a few minutes ago:

Obviously, didn't last that very long, but I'm just reporting it for future reference.. it seems to happen alot sometime after 12:10AM or so...

  • Author

I've made some adjustments, lets see how we go.

What are you doing online at 12:10AM anyway?

I couldn't get on here an hour or so ago. Saw the above error earlier today as well. no probs now though.

Yes the upstream provider had router issues yesterday

Hi Coral,

The "view new posts" link does not provide the required flexibility I need!

Is it possible to make some changes so that you can filter from which sub forums the "New Posts" are selected from?

I personaly find the feature to be good however, I don't want to review the off topics etc as they are really wasting my time. (No offence to Santa!)

Is this possible or is there another method.

Cheers

Dave.

BTW: Wrt filtering the sub-fora ... yeah, I'd love to not only filter out the pay-tv sub-forum etc ... but also if only I could filter out any "best price on..." threads ... and probably any "My Fuji/NEC/whatever rokzzzz" or any "Club Fuji/Pio/NEC/Buggery" etc threads! :P:P:D

{Actually ... come to think of it, filtering out any reference to "Pioneer", "Fujistsu" (and of course LG) could speed things up fantastically! :P }

Any chance Polls could be changed so that the author can edit them up to 24 hours afterward, like for normal posting?

Or that the mumber of options could be increased to greater than 10?

  • Author

Nope to Lyle. I would prefer less polls in all honesty.

Nope to Lyle. I would prefer less polls in all honesty.
Why is that?
  • Author

Because people tend to throw up polls for the sake of throwing up a poll. Some power struggle complex perhaps

Very cruel!

  • Author

Not you!

Other polls like "How long until this poll is deleted?" gear.

Hey, at least it isn't as bad as Whirlpool... if a poll doesn't have the "I want candy" option in it, they diss the poll for being useless...

How about a new poll?

Why doesn't Coral like Polls?

- Too many polls and not enough opinions

- Too busy to answer polls

- Can't read some people's questions to determine what the poll is about

- He had bad experiences with polls as a child

- He was bitten by a poll when he was young

- Purple?

- Not enough options

- I want candy

Hey! You stole my response! :P

Who am I to argue, though!

OK... I admit to the obvious ... sometimes I start a poll just to make a point. (Yep, those polls about how the ABC/SBS waste what little money they have on pathetic, annoying junk like shytemarks and promos that no-one wants or likes, might be alleged to have been more declarative than subjective.)

Now ... back to why Coral doesn't like Polls ... maybe he's Latvian! :P:D:P:P  :P
