kh1234567890 Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 hmm, this build doesn't seem to want to install for me at the moment though <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you look at the file with a hex editor you'll see that it is incompete/corrupt.[Edit] Seems to have been fixed now.
andy59 Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 I couldn't get 2623 to play my recorded files. The teletext is getting better but not right yet. For now it's back to 2622.
quasi Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Help ! - I have a Compro DVB-T300 and it's causing me grief bigtime. It works fine in analog but in digital, if it scans Win HD and I leave it on there for a few seconds it totally crashes the PC. The PC is a Dell GX280. Other channels seem to be OK both HD and SD. I'm in the Goulburn Valley, and wondering of anyone else in the GV has similar problems. The other thing is that this is a PC with several different user profiles on it - I want all profiles to see the same channel list - does anyone know where the channel list is stored ?
andy59 Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Right click and select edit on the ch description field in the setup and see what it has for the A and VPID settings etc. Check these against what you get through a STB if you have one or from other users of that ch. I'm still back at 2618 and the xxx24 driver trying to get back what I had.
Camo Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Can anyone tell me what Audio1 and Audio 2 is ? Only some ch seem to have it. I take it one is ac3 and the other is DD.. Which is which?

andy59 Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 They also carry the sound for the various channels. Audio4 on ABC(Perth) is HD soundtrack, Audio3 was ABC2 I think. I had to add APID 654 to get picture and sound on ABC HD then Audio4 started showing up. On my earlier post re DVT 2623, I found I had a string of entries in Add/Remove programs for the drivers as a result of upgrading. I also lost function in Photo Explorer which carries the codecs. Removed the lot and reinstalled, then remover the driver and installed Drv 13126/App 2623 and everything going fine with record/replay/viewing/scheduling/power on/off etc. Still problems with teletext. Does anybody get it starting with page 100, mine starts anywhere.

I'd really like to know as i'm going away soon and i'd really like to use the actual Compro program to record because of the power on/off features instead of using websceduler. Also is there anything else you've done to make sure it works perfectly? As for teletext, i can't even see it anymore, it just comes up with "Closed Captains On" and nothing happens as far as i can see.
jblyth Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 ABC HD Codes and small issues I couldn'find the correct ABC codes for HD in Carnarvon. I've tried adding 1 to the Audio number, but I still only get audio and no video. My LG STB doesn't show codes. I finally tried ScanChannelsBDA.exe from http://nate.dynalias.net/ and that showed a different audio setting (654), which solved the issue, although why changing the audio helps video is beyond me! My main problem now is that I haven't been able to find a way of setting the default channels for Anologue and Digital. The software always defaults to a blank CH2 in analogue and 11 in Digital on each PC startup. Any suggestions (polite) would be welcome! Thanks John in Sunny Carnarvon

If you set the the computer to Hibernate the amount of power that it will be using is next to nothing and WS will be able to wake it up. You can set the computer to hibernate after certain time of inactivity so it will automatically do it after it has finished the recording.
chestah Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 oh thanks sold! Thats exactly what i'll do. Might have to free up a bit of space though, i only left my windows partition with 2 gig free and i have 1.5gig of ram
Ricbec Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 DTV2624 is up now. Trying it tonight. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> already using it, cant tell any difference yet - but then again, havnt really looked for any changes!!
chestah Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 Yep, just got emailed! Any differences, have they bothered to update the changelog yet?
andy59 Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 I lost sound on analogue with it and couldn't tune analogue at all when I reinstalled. Anybody else check this.
kh1234567890 Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 DTV2624 is up now. Trying it tonight. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Closed captions appear to be broken - text flashes over the picture at random. DTV2625 fixes this somewhat, at least you can turn CC off but when on CC still flash randomly.
chestah Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Ok, just been notified of DTV2626, if you want automatic notification don't forget to register to my checking script. Downloading now, i'll reply back if i see any noticable changes.
dRdoS7 Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Hi, I'd recommend that you keep using WS for recording. You can set the computer to hibernate after certain time of inactivity so it will automatically do it after it has finished the recording. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree, use WS, but I would use Stand-by instead, WS will wake PC and you can let Windows put it back in SB when recording is finished (or use a post capture task to put it into SB immediately - I use PSSHUTDOWN.EXE). I leave my PC in SB all the time (very little power use), I have it set for 15mins of no use before it goes back in SB. I also have the BIOS set to return to ON state in the event of a power out, this way it will boot but go to SB after 15min. The reason I did this is I found that WS (and Compro) wouldn't start the PC if the power had been off. dRdoS7. PS. WS (and Compro) will wake the PC from Shutdown if you don't want to use Hibernate or SB.
andy59 Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 I've got my SD Digital recordings to DVD at last after a bit of mucking around. I use Movie Factory with a custom 6400 bitrate the same as the recording to write to DVD folders on HDD first and check them in Compro DVD for correct screen ratio and audio sync. MF usually squishes the ratio to 4:3 so I use IFOEdit (See pinned Digital TV to DVD Conversion in this forum) to set it back to 16:9 and Auto Letterbox. Once everything is ready I write to an ISO file for burning, usually with DVDShrink because I can compress a bit if needed to fit, then burn away. I checked a HD recording to see what they were which turned out to be 720x576 50fps 9000 bitrate. Since the fps revert to 25 on processing it's probably not worth mucking around with the larger files as the SD quality seems more than adequate to me. What are others doing in relation to HD recordings, if anything. Andy
Guest Slyyder Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Ok, had the card a few weeks now (and taken me nearly all that time to read through everything in this thread!!!) and mostly working well, just a couple of queries... From reading through, I saw someone mention it used to work in theatre mode on a second display/TV with the ATI Video drivers, but had stopped with one upgrade, anyone been able to get that to work again, or not? Also, with the latest update I've noticed that on startup, where-as it used to start up with a default System Priority level setting of high, it now starts up at normal, as per most programs... anyone know of a way of changing that so it starts automatically at high, avoiding having to manually change it via ctrl-alt-del/task manager? Cheers

Guest DarthMaul Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Just bought the card today and went to downoad the drivers. I noticed there's 2627 there and am downloading that. Is that a new version, or has anyone had any experience with that one ? What's the recommended version ? Thanks
