fridtrav Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 Just wanted to know if anyone else has been having problems with 7digital. 90% of the time al is fine, but the other 10% the sound drops out and little blurs apear and dissapear on the screen. Though out all of this I have 100% signal reception. Suggestions please. Ty
alanh Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 fridtrav, If the problem is in the air or in the antenna system the video and audio will be affected together. The picture will pixelate and the sound will plop, if the signal is weaker then you get the no signal sign. If the picture becomes blurry at the same time it is more than likely in the STB AlanH
fridtrav Posted January 11, 2005 Author Posted January 11, 2005 The sound and he video do pix at the same time, but only on channel 7, and only some of the time... If it is only happening for one of the channels, wouldnt that mean that the stb is ok? BTW I have a Topfield TF5000PVRt
bruiser333 Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 fridtrav, If you have 100% signal strength (what's your signal quality like?) and Toppy is pixellating 10% of the time on digital 7 (but not other stations), then it may be possible that the signal for digital 7 is too strong and needs attenuating. You can get attenuators from Jaycar, etc for not much, it's probably worth a try. If it's an occasional minor sound dropout with pixellation, then you may be suffering from some sort of interference - this can be caused by electrical spikes (eg flipping a switch), or impulse noise from passing cars, to name a few. Then you need to look at your antenna and cabling system, look in the Antenna & Distribution Systems forum there are plently of posts. Regards, Bruiser
fridtrav Posted January 11, 2005 Author Posted January 11, 2005 Thanks guys I do have 100% signal on channel 7, but I think the interference option might be more likely as I live in front of a rail station. Will have a look around at what could be interferring when it happens next time.
