antman1503559674 Posted May 7, 2004 Posted May 7, 2004 JB is advertising an LG 147cm (58") DLP TV for $5,499. The local store (Osborne Park WA) doesn't have any in stock, so I couldn't look at ne or check the specs. Has anyone seen one? Does it have the 1280 x 720 chip? They also have a 44" in stock that they said they would take $3,900 for. It's floor stock and dosn't appear to have any problems. How does that compare with others' quotes?

How does that compare with others' quotes? HN in Martin Place has the 44 inch DLP RPTV on sale for $3900. On the LG web site it's quoted as being: "44" DLP Rear Projection TV- Widescreen (16:9)- 300Hz Progressive Scan- Super Slim Design 33cm (33kg)- HD (576p) Ready, WXGA (1024 x 576P)- Brightness 500cd/m2- High Contrast Ratio 800:1- RS-232C External Control & Up Grade- Lamp Life time: 8 000 Hrs" I was very impressed with the PQ. Is this a reasonable price for this kind of specn?

Orange & green glows after a few weeks and dead guns at 4000hrs and that happens way out of warranty for most. Be sure to take an extended warranty. (or ask them to for you)
Billy Two Hats Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 In case it makes a difference to anyone who reads this threat, you should distinguish between the two models. The question was asked about the 111cm lg dlp rptv which is totally different to the 152cm lg lcd rptv. Yes it is a good price and yes there have been some issues. There are plenty of old threads on this forum, well worth a look if you are thinking of buying one.
antman1503559674 Posted May 23, 2004 Author Posted May 23, 2004 Actually, ny original post really focussed on the LG 147cm DLP RPTV that JB were advertising. I guess nobody has actually seen one and that JB f***ed up.
