I’m looking to buy or borrow an arc1m calibration microphone if anyone around Melbourne has one thanks
  1. This is so inspiring. I’d love to try something like this. Feels like a steep learning curve! Since hearing some huge Klipsch I’ve lusted over that sound and this seems like a good way to get close. Do you think a build like this would be ok without a separate subwoofer?

Truely excellent sounding In perfect functional condition and very good cosmetic condition. It had a slight dink from my move a few years back but hasn’t had any impact on its functionality Great chance for a good sounding CD player and to get into SACDs at a reasonable price

Immaculate condition with original boxes. These speakers have to be heard to believed. They have an energetic and large sound. When I bought them I tested against the B&W 704 (floor standing speakers), Dynaudios, Harbeths and these came out on top quite easily. Neat acoustics have a huge following in the UK. Often paired with Naim amplification. Only selling due to downsizing. Pickup available in South Yarra or Newtown
  2. And a very enthusiastic group over on the naim forum https://community.naimaudio.com/t/show-us-your-neats/24896
  3. Some more information about the Neats which are very sort after in the UK. They are musical and engaging as they are designed by someone with a musical background Also I should note, the company support is extremely good. Often the CEO will reply to customer emails to help out From HiFiCritic- with the eyes closed it sounded like a much larger and more powerful model. The treble was open, sparkling, full of detail and notably transparent, supporting an airy and deep soundstage. The midrange did indeed sound slightly recessed, though with some amplification this can be a positive advantage, by helping to maintain natural perspectives in the face of some tonal forwardness. Midrange sounds were also clear and well focused, with plenty of detail recovery. Perhaps the big surprise was the remarkable bass extension, and the power in the lower bass that could rival much larger models, and which unequivocally demonstrated the benefit of the isobaric loading technique. The bass was quite fast and played tunes well, and even though the upper bass remained a tad rich and could occasionally be caught out by the odd track, it still timed pretty well.

Excellent - near perfect condition isobaric speakers in a beautiful wood finish from smoke and child free home. I have reduced these in price to what I think is a steal. You will not find a better speaker for this price - that’s a promise. Current version of these speakers “momentum j-s” are $9,500 These speakers are from English company Neat Acoustics. They are very satisfying with their bass reaching 35hz due to their isobaric woofer configuration (2 drivers) They have been very carefully looked after in a smoke free home. Grills on always. People often enjoy with Naim and Rega amplification but I have also found success with class D which adds a level of control to the bass which I enjoy I am selling as I’m attempting to simplify my setup Happy to discuss the stands too which are extremely heavy and in excellent condition Can also discuss shipping as I have the original and secure packaging - double boxed. Collection from South Yarra or Newtown
  4. @agisthos Enjoy! Bet they are a pleasure to listen to

  5. Or save your coin and buy my Denon SACD for a mere 450 ! …totally doesn’t fit the bill but thought I’d do a little shameless plug
  6. Big big fan. I had the pma1600ne which I sold on here recently. They have an energetic and meaty sound. Excellent build quality and looks! I also have a 1500 cd / SACD for sale that for some reason hasn’t sold!
