  1. Yes, you need a VPN. Once you subscribe, you don’t need the VPN anymore, you can use Quboz from anywhere. If you don’t have a VPN, find a friend who does and sign up from their house. After that, you can use Quboz from anywhere.
  2. I signed up on the European site trough VPN using my DBS credit card. It appears all they check is from where you login when you sign in. After that you are free to use Qobuz from anywhere - that includes the app.
  3. Vincent Chase is the original Aquaman.
  4. I recently received two crowd sourced headphones I helped fund last year, one pair from Audeara and the other from Nuraphone. Both are Australian based, and both claim to do the same thing - measure your hearing and then store your hearing profile in the headphones to process and deliver “correct” sound. The different companies go about this tuning differently, but both deliver surprisingly good sound. I like the build of the Nuraphones better, but I think the 32 point sound test for each ear in the Audeara delivers more “custom” sound. Also, the way it displays the results means I could probably just copy the measurements into a graphic equalizer and replicate the same sound profile for my speakers. Joking aside though, these two companies should merge and license their technology to high end headphone makers - I think your perfect sound (whether it is or not) will be a differentiator for headphones in the future.
  5. 11 years ago, I was the local distributor for Red Dragon here in Singapore. At that time I bought 5 pairs of their first amps which had different exotic hard wood casings. Given concerns about warranty support and lack of knowledge about the brand and me as a distributor, the amps did not sell. I traded one set for other equipment, but I still have 4 pairs that still work and have been in daily use for over a decade. While there is probably some bias here, Red Dragon built very good quality and sounding Class D amps. I think that a year or two after I got my first units that Red Dragon went to an online distribution model only.
  6. Wiz, I would be interested in looking into an MO. I was going to set up a Hifiberry to stream to my Simaudio DAC when I return from the U.S. next week, but was also considering a Roon Rock, so if there is any more interest, let me know!
  7. Do you find the content in Singapore limited (and censored)? I suppose if you have never used Netflix in other countries maybe you wouldn't notice, but I had to cancel my subscription when they went global because the content here in Singapore is truly disappointing.
  8. Thanks for sharing. Growing up just up the road in Boulder, ListenUp Audio was the ONLY Hifi shop I could go to to see audiophile equipment. I remember thinking I would never spend $2,000 on any single piece of audio equipment. Pictures are great, how did you like Denver?
  9. I used this and it worked fine. Follow instructions from the link. Note you have to either pay with PayPal or a "coupon". Given the latter is probably provided by dealers in Europe to allow their customers to download the upgrade for free, I had to use PayPal. The cost is EUR 149 or About SGD 235, so it's cheaper than what's offered here and doesn't require the hassle of taking the unit in.
  10. Mesaux, I have P8 preamp, W8 power amp, 650D DAC, and the 180 MiND streamer.
  11. At 3:38, there's a dog barking. Is that what warrants playing this repetitive rubbish on a decent stereo system?
  12. I have had a full SimAudio setup for the past few years and upgraded last year when another owner upgraded to their newest Evolution components. Let me know if you want to come by for a listen. I recommend the i7 over the 340. Apart from build quality, there is a huge step up in sound from the Neo to Evolution series. If you are looking for a streamer, just go with the 180D MiND, you won't be disappointed.
  13. Pinball Arcade is actually better on an iPad - when you play it portrait on a tablet, it just seems weird to play it landscape on a 16:9 screen.
  14. Coming from a country where people regularly drive their cars for 20+ years and more than 200,000 MILES, 96,000 km on a Honda is nothing. Top up the freon in the A/C and maybe get some new tires and you should be good to go. Just curious, what do Singaporeans think happens to cars after you "scrap" them after 10 years?
  15. Wow, The Shore - we're neighbors now! Any coffee/pool party/listening sessions coming up soon? If your wife wants her balcony back, you're welcome to walk on over to Jalan Seaview and hide out in my listening room.
  16. I am helping a friend sell two SimAudio setups: First, the more modest setup: SimAudio I-1 - 50W Integrated Amp, SGD 1200. Here is a review from Stereophile:http://www.stereophile.com/integratedamps/1208sim/ SimAudio 360D - CD Player with SPDIF in to allow other components to use DAC, SGD 1850. Comment from the Absolute Sound's Editor's Choice Awards for Disc Players from USD 2,000-10,000: The Moon CD360D (formerly the CD3.3) uses a proprietary CD drive system, in-house developed hardware and software, and a Burr-Brown 24-bit/192kHz DAC just like the one used in Simaudio’s premium Moon Evolution SuperNova player. Not surprisingly the 360D’s sound is devilishly close to that player’s, and where it slightly misses the mark it does so without detracting from the beauty of the music. The I-1 setup is paired with Canton Vento 820s. I will throw in a pair of stands. SGD 820. All prices are negotiable, but if you want to buy the complete setup, price is even more negotiable. The seriously good setup consists of: SimAudio P7 RS Preamp (SGD 4,000), SuperNova RS CD Player (SGD 3,300) with digital in, and a pair of W7M RS 500W per channel mono blocks (SGD 13,000). All components have black body with silver "cheeks". As above, all prices are negotiable, but if you want to buy the complete setup, total price is more negotiable. Here are reviews of all of these components: http://www.stereophile.com/solidpreamps/simaudio_moon_evolution_p-7_line_preamplifier http://www.soundstageav.com/onhifi/20080401.htm http://www.stereophile.com/cdplayers/107sim http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/simaudio-moon-evolution-supernova-cd-player/ http://www.tonepublications.com/magazine/toneaudio-magazine-26/ SMS me at 8125 0234 to setup up an audition of either or both setups.
  17. Note to self: avoid getting IT system quotes from BCS. They employee idiots who don't know the value of money and will pass their "knowledge" on to their customers at an unnecessary premium.
  18. Replacement JL Audio F113 Upgraded from SimAudio P7 to P8 Replaced my Red Dragons with a SimAudio W8

  20. Yes, Pinball Arcade is already available in the U.S. Playstation store.
  21. Not the case for me, the unit has already left the U.S. With iParcel.
  22. I ordered a PS4 through Amazon and it qualified for free global shipping, so just waiting for it to arrive.
  23. Krispy Kreme donuts are the best if: 1. You can get them for 60 cents apiece or USD 5.99 or 6.99 a dozen. 2. You can eat them hot 3. You have the with Krispy Kreme's coffee 4. You can drive through and buy a dozen of hot donuts after the bars close Since I don't think Krispy Kreme in SG can meet any of those criteria, then no, they're not worth the price here.
