  1. Smacca, Can confirm all looks good now
  2. 14 days later and it's worse than ever, break up and no signal every 10 secs, time to dig out the analgue box, or better still stick with the ABC
  3. I have a 3900 and it has web page control, great feature
  4. Aiden, Apart fromn the probs I've had connecting the player through my Yamaha amp (see post above) it's a good unit, I've networked it and share files off my PC to it (seems to handle most formats, even mkv), played files from USB drive (bookmarks last file even if you remove and replace the USB drive), recorded TV etc and all was simple to do from the menu. I use a Harmony 785 remote and had no probs setting the remote up for the PVR and using it from the remote. The menu screen is intuitive and easy to use. The only gripe I have is if you have programmed a show to record and you're watching something else, network, USB etc, when the programme is about to record, it will interupt you and ask if you want to continue with the recording, bit annoying seeing as you set the unit to record in the first place!!! One thing I haven't tried yet is set it to record a programme and then power down to see if it will power up and record the programme. Just thought of another thing, when I turn it on, it defaults to the menu screen, it would be nice if it went straight to TV instead, might be a setting to do that, I scanned the manual but only had a boys look, maybe if I had a girls or a mums look it could be done
  5. Brad, Hope you're not in Baynton, esp near St Lukes, one of the guys at work has the same problem as do others in the same area from what I've heard (can't confirm this), Bulgarra, Pegs Creek, Millars Well and Nickol are OK from what I hear, I'm in Millars Well, reception perfect. Maybe others in Karratha can post their experience and list their area to work out if this is the prob??
  6. Smacca, Just got home and check, today it's better than yesterday, but still breaking up, say every 30 secs - 1 minute or so, audio drop out and picture breakup with the occasional black screen. as Woffa said, lots of people at work have complained/mentioned this. Also I wouldn't be suprised to see it get worse as the evening goes on. Update: Looks like someone hit "ctrl-alt-del" on the transmitter, about 10 mins ago all signals were lost for about 30-60 secs, now all is OK, stable picture and sound
  7. Karratha transmission for GWN, WIN and TEN is unwatchable at the moment (05/07/2010 - 16:18), ABC is OK
  8. Thanks guys, I've tried these settings and no joy, even with the AVR HDMI set to pass through, still get the problem. I've now connected the PVR direct to the TV via HDMI and the sound to the AVR via coax, not what I really wanted but it works.
  9. Got a HR599D, but it won't play nicely with my Yamaha RX-V3900............... Connect via HDMI and everything is OK until you change DTV channel, pause, fwd etc a recording then the screen turns pink (picture has a pink hue), change to another source on the amp and back again and the picture is OK. Connect via component/coax and all is OK. I've changed cables and ports on the amp, gone through every setting in the amp's receiver manager and still not good. Also downloaded latest updates for the HR599D and the RX-V3900. Another user on the Whirlpool forum has reported the same prob with no fix. Looks like they're just incompatable at the moment, if one's gotta go, it'll be the HR599D, I won't part with the RX-V3900 it's a great bit of gear.
  10. Thanks Smacca, Just re-scanned and now all perfect :D
  11. Smacca, Still scrambled on high end equipment as of 3 mins ago (just rescanned), spoke to the guys at the local electrical shops yesterday (Hardly Normal and Retchidvision) and they both said that someone is coming up this week to fix it and it's still under test and not officially rolled out yet.
  12. Now I'm really sad, tried a re-scan, re-start, still the same scrambled, now a re-swear :( EDIT: What's the best way to contact the GWN/WIN/TEN/Whoever is in charge to try and get this problem resolved, being new to this do I contact the individual stations or is there a "fat controller" that looks after the transmitter here in Karratha ??
  13. Bugger, just checked mine, did a re-scan and still scrambled on GWN, WIN and TEN, starting to think the LG HR599D might be a problem. Now I've connected it via HDMI it shows a purple screen on every channel, change input on the amp (Yamaha RX-V3900) and change back to the LG picture becomes fine (except for the scramble prob) all connections through the amp.
  14. Thanks Smacca, yes you're right, I can see the $ signs in the channel list, the LG shows no error messages. As per previous post I've downloaded the latest updates from LG and rescanned, will try and contact the networks/manufactureres about this, just hope they don't blame each other.
  15. Hi all, first post on this forum so go easy on me if I'm in the wrong area please I am having a similar prob here in Karratha, GWN, WIN & TEN reception is perfect through an Olin HVBT-2000B box, but using my LG HR599D (Twin HD Recorder/Blu-Ray combo) GWN, WIN and TEN come up as scrambled but the audio is fine, if I click on the Info/Display on the remote I then get the picture (video) with the info and it's perfect but when the info times out the video goes back to scrambled. I've tried swapping the order of the RF cable, ie putting the signal into the LG unit first, makes no difference. ABC and SBS are perfect on both units. I've networked the LG unit, downloaded the latest updates, rescanned the channels and even swore at it!! Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
