3d Avatar Blu-ray Only Available Bundled With Select Panasonic Products
Isn't this what all of the 3D tv suppliers are doing- eg Samsung? At least its a reasonable title compared to the other exclusives - Meatballs and Aliens v Monsters. Not a fan of Samsung and neither of those titles will convert me!

The Kiss-ass Thread Iii, Reloaded...
I really want to pick this one up. BUT why do we have to get interchangeable covers, t-shirts, etc (for additional cost) and downgraded audio (for additional cost )? I'd rather have 7.1 and no t-shirt, changeable covers. Looks like my $$ will be going to the US again

Tokyo Drift - Fault
Here's a crazy thought, maybe if you watch it you can find out whether there is a fault

Warning - Don't Buy Astro Boy Local Release
I have to disagree. My (somewhat cynical) understanding is that Sony did not want to loose another format battle so pumped millions into the studios to ensure they adopted blu ray over HD-DVD. The consumer wasn't really given a choice as a number of studios went exclusive (yes, there were exclusives in both camps but more blu ray camp) long before the war was over. I think the PS3 was also key to their success. As for Astro Boy: major disappointment at the movies so wont be buying on Blu Ray. I loved the original Japanese animation. This just seems to be yet another example of the Americans taking a good idea/theme from someone else and butcherising and Americanising it. The chose big name's for the voices rather than voices that would be appropriate, and a fairly simplistic story line.

Avatar - April 29th Aus Release
I have been on planet Earth, Brisbane, Australia!!! My use of the term "current" was specifically in respect of red/blue glasses technology. I have yet to see any of the new 3D/blu ray player technology on the shelves in Brisbane (cant speak of other states) - Sony still hasn't released its PS3 update to make the unit a 3D player so I would hardly call the non-blue/red glasses technology current! Not to mention that there are no 3D blu ray discs that utilise the new non-blue/red glasses technology for sale. These new 3D tv displays were first mentioned over 1 year ago. Was the 3D technology called current back then? I will wait to judge for myself whether the "new" technology is indeed "outstanding"

I am with you. That was the point of my comment

Avatar - April 29th Aus Release
YAY and its still going strong(ish) at cinemas. Given the currently poor quality of 3D (ie with red/blue glasses) I'd be surprised that James would degrade the quality of the visuals to that level. This will be one for the next gen 3D players/tvs

Firefly
Ditto. Have resisted buying the blu version. Happy enough with the DVD (finding too many blu releases are just upscaled DVD quality). I also heard that a second movie is planned. Not sure though

2012
Does anyone know what version we will end up with in Aust? Amazon.com has 2 versions: a single disc and double disc (both blu ray).

Bad Dealings With Australia Post?
I have the same problem at least once a month. I have rung Australia post to firstly arrange for collection of the items and secondly to query whether my mail is likewise being mis-delivered. The person on the phone had the audacity to tell me that would never happen. Then I asked how did I end up with this parcel. There was some silence on the phone. The he remarked that they would put a not on something or other to ensure that the post office manager personally checks the mail sortation process. He or she must be useless as well!!!

Amazon Uk
Slightly off topic, but you may have wasted your money on Monkey Magic! I loved the original series (bought DVD pack) so also bought the Blu Ray. Doesn't follow the DVD story very well and the lead actor for Monkey is a popular Japanese singer - cant act to save himself and constantly yells/screams his lines. I was sooo looking forward to it and was sooo disappointed. Keen to know what u think of it when u get it.

Amazon.co.uk And Vat
I don't think I have ever had VAT charged because it is an export, like our GST.

Blank Bd-r / Bd-rws
I have found that Amazon (Japan, US, UK) will not ship blank discs internationally. Haven't tried in last couple of weeks

Dve Blu-ray Calibration Pass Around.
I know. But surely considering the $1000's (or $10,000's) people spend on home theaters, $15-20 is a minimal outlay. And setups change which, presumably, would require recalibration? Seems a long time to wait to save a few bucks. Bit funny in my opinion. Took my name off after a couple of months. Each to their own i guess
