  1. as kid i was part of a school excursion to see this movie [roughly 6 or 7 years of age] well..............given the length of this movie coupled with its adult themes it wouldnt be hard to expect that it manifested into shear bedlam..and to some degree it did [memory precludes a complete recollection of all the details] of course they blamed us and we permanently banned from all future excursions
  2. yes and no...............i did for a while.............................coming up from dvd to hd and being the inquisitive little creatures i suppose we are [being that we visit this site we must have a bent towards self regard as armchair scientists] and the financial need to justify our upgrades , i think its in our best interest to have some sort of examination but sometimes something is so obvious you have got to say "is that the best they can do ?"
  3. the total recall hd dvd..............i spent the whole movie looking at the grain.............i couldnt take my eyes off it
  4. i got the pat matheny live thing and it looks unbelievable.....but at a guess .....i think it was designed that way.......carefully controlled enviroment .......unusual bias toward blue....etc

  8. i got the latest home entertainment mag featuring the bd30a its ratings include : performance 4 and a half out of five stars ........................... features 4 and a half out of five stares but i really find it hard to value it that high if it dosnt include internal decoding of the hd audio formats that to me is a biggie !!!!!
  9. an oddity occured last nite region 4 {also bought in aussie] "the natural".....the robert redford baseball movie got the regional thingy and had to put in the work around crack code to enable wat gives ?
  10. i might suggest a more robust model like xe1 may be needed for the toilet ........ if its anything like ours
  11. on a positive note...the region reject warnings are getting a little prettier to look at
  12. one day im gonna drag out the ep10 that is [hopefully] safely stored in the cupboard and compare the difference in upscaling of sd and comparitive quality in hd dvd with my xe1 in the lounge , than i may have a better informed opinion in this thread having said that......the sd upscaling difference between the xe1 and my old upscaling samsung makes me think the 550 dollars i paid for the toshie was an absolute bargin and when i finally get a hdmi av reciever im gonna get one that also has the reon as an upscaler and im guessing that kazz and her merry little band of early adopters are not too displeased at their puchased prices
