No opinions?

So i've just made a purchase on amazon.de and I know it's too late, but wanted people's opinion on Magnat speakers. From what I can tell, they are thought of fairly highly, but the monitor supreme's are at the lower end of their price scale. Does anybody have any experience with these ? What I want to know, is will this be comparable to say, a Pioneer Todoroki 521 set or similar? A/V Receiver: Yamaha RX-V371 5.1 AV-Receiver http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B004TK0H3W/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF Fronts: Magnat Monitor Supreme 1000 http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B001GNC0MG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&m=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF Centre: Magnat Monitor Supreme Center 250 http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B001GNC0O4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?ie=UTF8&m=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF Rears: Magnat Monitor Supreme 100 2-way bookshelf speaker http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B001GNC0JY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&m=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF Sub: Magnat Monitor Supreme Sub 301A http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B001GNC0RG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&m=A21GGOUB68KF6K For some reason, the sub was unable to be shipped – and I can just take the sub from my old Kenwood system for the time being. Came to $570 all up inclusive of shipping. I will purchase a new sub in a month or two. Hopefully it's a good system. Was very hard finding reviews, but i'm no audiophile so hopefully it will do the job for me.

Are they showing the Carling cup match between Arsenal and Wigan? The tv guide seems to suggest No... but I find ti a bit hard to believe that they aren't going to show the game at some point during the week, if not live?
-
Considering they've DROPPED prices for other people, it can't be a CPI adjustment. I'll give it a shot anyway, see how it works out. I don't like contracts, so if this gets me out of one, then i'm happy

The problem is that I am under contract, and therefore if I threaten to cancel, I will be up for a cancellation fee. The whirlpool thread is for people out of contract. I want to cancel my contract, as they have breached the contract, and then bargain a way better deal.
-
So I got a letter today saying price increased by $2.00 per month Will this let me get out of my contract? I have not had the time to look into the fine print, but generally speaking, a price increase generally means the subscriber has x amount of days to pull out of their contract?
-
So Foxtel now supply the IQ box as the 'standard' box $10 a month activates the timeshift and allows you to record. Then, when you stop paying the $10 a month, they can remotely turn it off... How do they do this? I'm surprised there hasn't been a hack found to activate the timeshift/recording features without paying $10 a month...

I'm after a small cheap LCD TV. Anything from 15" - 19" will be fine. It will be used once or twice a week for a few hours, and the only real pre-requisite is that it has a built in HD tuner. I looked around the usual good guys, harvey norman, retravision and JB HIFI, as well as big w. The best i can find so far, is a 19" Okana LCD for $328.00 http://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-plasma-lcd/ A few places have 15" LCD's for $299.00, but i'm tempted to go the 19" here. I would prefer to get a 15" for cheaper than hve the 19" for that price though, which is why i'm here. Where can I get a LCD TV for less than $299 that fits the specs?
-
I dnt see why ppl need more than two tuners? I'm quite happy with one… there's 5 FTA channels…. How often are any of them showing good stuff at the same time? Two channels - yes, more than that - very rarely imo. I'd be happy to buy a single tuner, as there's very rarely (imo) more than one thing worth recording at a time If it would save me $$ then I'd go for it..but yeh 200-300 is the range not 4-500
-
not always Ten HD and Ten SD show differeint things sometimes. I love the Ten HD quality, but i wouldn't wanan fork out extra to get a blu ray burner. i'd be happy to keep my copy at SD. Sometimes ppl want to save the content, and are not fussed if its in HD or SD. Obviuosly they prefer HD, but it's not worth the extra $$ to them.
-
Owen, have you tried turning the black enchancement to max? I really don't see the fuss? With enhancement off, it's poor, but with it on max, it's perfectly acceptable. On par with the pana and sammy i felt. i'm not overly fussed by the black levels though, the rest of the image is very realistic and that's why i love this tv
-
hmm damn, i wanted to get this but it appears to be quite problematic?
-
Ok back to the PVR lol I'll do some research on this Teac one at JB Hi Fi
-
argh this htpc is such a pain, with the DVX-555, how would i transfer it to the PC? can it save to the USB drive? or does the hard drive have to come out?
-
hmm ok so if this htpc doesn't work, i'll just get a DVX-555 time to read up on them
-
so the DVX-555U does record HD? hmm i have plenty of Hard drives lying around I've dusted off the old HTPC and i'm going to give that another go. Previously I had it set up for Tv, DVD, Radio and Satellite tv. The Satellite TV caused me all sorts of headaches and was the reason I gave up on it. This time I'm going to try without the Satellite, and hopefully save myself some $$$ Cheers guys
-
hmm that sucks.. i heard the dgtech's were really bad though? I have the Hitachi P50X01AU The HD Channels quite often show different things. I particularly like watching the HD Documentaries, and sometimes there's a movie on. All the sport I watch seems to be sent to the SD Channel too so isn't a big problem. Are there any cheap SD HDD boxes that can record HD Channels, but just can't display them? I know some of the toppies can do that.
-
hmm ok scrap that then, ignoring the ethernet requirement too. I guess i'm after a DVD recorder now as they seem alot cheaper. So whats a good cheap one that does HD? I think i'm going to get one to tide me over adn then get a good toppy a bit later down the track. So now i'm looking at the $150 range for a DVD recorder that records HD
-
Budget - not set.. Let's put it this way, i need a PVR, and with the above features... so the cheapest one i can get, whether it be 50 dollars or 500 dollars. I wouldn't want to go over 500, but like I said, as cheap as possible. I'm after just basic functionality. I have a TV With a built in HD STB A DVD recorder is not a bad option I suppose, Can I get a HD one? How much are they worth? I have a PC, but i'd rather not use it to record tv etc. I had a HTPC but i can't be bothered playing around with it anymore I want ethernet to stream movies/music from my networked hard drive. A DVD Recorder might be the way to go here i'm guessing... As long as they have built in HD Tuner

Now I have a few requirements: Cheap as possible is one, I'm a student, and don't have much $$$ so i don't want to spend money on extravagent machines that I don't need. My requirements are: Record and view HD channels (I don't care if they only record at SD, but i don't want to miss out on the content) Only require One tuner (not sure if they are available, but i only need the one tuner, so if that will save costs, that's a good thing) Wireless would be good, but I think that would make it even more expensive... So ethernet for now will do What are my options here? [/DELETED]

have you tried turning the black enchancement to maximum? It's got quite decent black levels when it's on maximum

Hitachi should sue
