  1. Hi guys, I have a Denon 6500 and qsc 1622 power amp for my two subs and the hum was terrible. I bought a relatively cheap Behringer HD400 AC Hum Eliminator, which has done the trick... However, I'm now concerned with signal degredation, as the signal carries < 80hz only. Anyone have any feedback on this unit? Should I replace with the Jenson?
  2. Clearly Melbournites have better taste GLWS - I have Sennheiser's myself. They are awesome.
  3. What does upgrading the relays give you? I'm seriously interested. About to outfit my theatre room with the krix mx20 . I think this would drive those Speakers better than the denon 6500 built in Amps..
  4. what is that marantz?
  5. Yes. Totally not interested in littering my home with speakers. In ceiling is out of the way and far more convenient. Just wish there were options
  6. Hi guys, I'm struggling here. Looking to power three sets of speakers around the home (two living areas and al fresco). They are krix atmospherix . So three zones. Ideally want to be able to use Chromecast to send music to each zone, play my music held on a nas, radio (tunein or an actual radio ok), Spotify...etc. Does anything like this exist? Budget wise, anything around the $2k mark. Would love some help with this one! Thanks
  7. The centre....hrm, 500kb, seriously? Going to have to resize
  8. They are all black. Happy to ship, at your cost though. They are heavy. I may still have the original box for the c803's, but I'm not sure about the SUR. Would need to pack them somehow.
  9. Ok, 4k for the lot . You won't be disappointed.
  10. Yeah, I just don't know what they are worth. I'd accept $3500 for the speakers as a set. Not sure about the amp to be honest. It was top of it's class for a long time. Not sure if they make them the same these days or how much is worth.
  11. Hi all, Having recently moved, and extended the family, I can no longer justify keeping what (I believe) a bloody awesome ht setup. So, for sale are: Jamo c805's - used as my fronts ($2750 new) c803's - used as side surrounds for a while. Haven't used them in about 3 years.($1850 new) c80sur - side surrounds ($1500 new), and c80cen - centre speaker ($1000 new) They are all in perfect working order, in excellent condition (no visible scratches or marks, except a small scratch on the left c805) and are about 5 years old. Keen for reasonable offers as a set, preferably, or individually as a last resort. I was driving them with an ONKYO 875, which I will also sell (bought new for $3250 at the time). Obviously worth a lot less now, but was, and still is, an absolute beast.
  12. Except that the Onkyo 805 is a far superior unit. It doesn't have as many features, but for components (ie. Burr/Brown DACs, THX Ultra2 vs Select, 3 TI DSP's...list goes on), amplifier specs and overall build quality. For that price, I would take it. The 805 will go down as one of the most over-specced and well built amplifiers ever built. But hey, I own an Onkyo so my view might be a little biased
  13. The C803's have been received from oo.com.au in new condition, immaculate. Very happy with them, although I think a little overkill for side-surround duties. they'll last me 15-20 years though, so I'm not complaining. Still need stands for them. I might use my old floorstanders for now, but need to definately find a more permanent solution! The oo.com.au website has been updated for both C803 and C805 as "out of stock" - so I guess I've picked up the last ones.
  14. I was quoted (RRP) for the C809's $5500 / pair. I heard them at HN in Chadstone (VIC) - I went back to listen to them again, but they were sold some time around christmas. Well and truely out of my price range though. Where did you buy the C80 CEN? If you don't mind can you PM me with the price, as I need to get one and its going to cost a bit. Need Speaker stands for the C803's - don't suppose anyone out there can suggest where I can pick some up that would suit this type of speaker?
  15. I rang Qualifi over the new year break and they said that unless it was imported by them directly (and they have a list of all Serial numbers) the local warranty would not apply. Having said all that, I've pulled the trigger on a pair of C805's and C803's last week from the site, because: 1. I got some quotes for these models back in September...then again last week. The C805's are now retailing @ $3599. The C803's are now $1999. 2. The warranty through oo.com.au is for 2 years. Even if theres something wrong with them, worst case I'll get my money back. They're being freighted down right now so I'll report back on quality etc when I get them - Hopefully before the weekend.
  16. Thanks for the detailed commentary - did you take any photos as the room took shape? I'm sure we're all pretty keen to see what the end result looks like (or what it looks like to date) so that we can dream about owning something like that ourselves...
  17. Hi all, For sale is an Onkyo TX-SV444 AV Receiver. It has served me well over the years, producing clean, crisp sound across the audio range. Dolby Pro Logic (4.1) inbuilt, AM/FM radio, and 5.1 Multi-channel inputs. Included is the original remote, AM/FM Antenna and I have a PDF copy of the manual which I can send to the winner as well. Condition is excellent, no scratches or visible marks on the front display. Local pickup preferred, Melbourne Metro Area. PM with offers. Specifications Stereo 2x80W, both channels driven. Surround (left, front, right) 3x60W (rear left, rear right) 2x20W, all 5 channels driven THD 0.08% at rated power Total power output 250W Weight 9.6kg
  18. if you can stretch your budget a little, try the Jamo Concert 600 series....superior drivers, enclosures and sound...
  19. what about 805's...anyone seen them in melbourne for sale?
  20. overstock outlet? hrm. Check out the following reviews.. http://www.productreview.com.au/showshop.p...EWS&next=11 Cons: Products are not brand new. I purchased a Polar F4 heart rate monitor and it contained old data from previous use and the manual was clearly used. Other comments from users who bought 2 items - one of which was packaged, the other was not...extremely dodgy. "overstock" could ex-demo, reconditioned, repaired...or just unsellable. I dunno - these jamo speakers are not cheap, so I'm worried about forking out cash on what seems like a deal thats "too good to be true"!
  21. Jamo's are fantastic, IMHO...I've had my Prestige's for over 12 years and they haven't failed me. They are no longer made in denmark though, and the new Concert's --- all made in china. The ones you called out have been on the site for a while now (over a month). I've been eyeing them off as an upgrade. My only concern is that they are 2nds, or refurbished - reason being, you can't choose the colour --- notice the centres are apple only? If they had a line to a supplier, you would expect them to be able to sell you black / apple....but in this case you can't. Also, they're selling a C8CEN right only...that one is certainly dodgy. HN quoted me $1900 for the 805's, best they could do..so 1600 is a steal. but it comes with the above risk. I was thinking about getting the C805 for fronts and C803's as side surrounds (forget the C8CEN dipoles, dunno why they even manufacture them). The 803's might be overkill for the sides? Wouldn't mind the advice on that... Was going to power them with an Onkyo 805, if i can find one...or a 705 if they're still floating around...wonder if the 705 has enough grunt to run them well?
  22. If you're going to go 7.1 - then you need to upgrade your amp support the latest HD audio from blu-ray.
