“Song 11 was good, but not good enough so it had to be repeated at drastically increased volume, yep, far better (song 11 is my electric guitar test track, I’m sure everyone understands) then into the drum test track. Loved every minute of it I did. This Heschl is pretty damn good guys.”

User reviews and community discussions praise the Heschl Audio Labs HAL 350 Integrated Amplifier for its neutral, natural sound with a huge soundstage, fast transients, and excellent layering, though some note a slight lean tonality dependent on cables and system synergy. Build quality is highly regarded as handcrafted in Australia, with hand-matched MOSFETs, simple minimalist design, discrete power supplies, and an integrated R-2R DAC for studio-like naturalness.

### Sound Quality
- Neutral and balanced tonality: Described as very neutral, warm (not clinical or cold), with sweet extended treble, rich textural midrange, full bottom end, and natural top-end extension from 1Hz to 200kHz.
- Soundstage and imaging: Huge soundstage with good depth, layering, and accurate vocal placement—vocals sound distinct and properly layered within the mix, avoiding forwardness or smearing.
- Dynamics and detail: Fast transients, clear sustain/decay, excellent rhythm/pace handling, high nuance, and linearity; excels on complex tracks like Scarlatti sonatas without congestion.
- Bass and warmth: Slightly lean or light bass in some setups (e.g., with certain cables), but full and menacing with others; not ideal for extreme bass-heavy "headbangers."
- Minor critiques: Slight congealing of multi-tracked vocals on specific tracks (barely perceptible) and cable sensitivity affecting leanness vs. detail.

### Build Quality
- Hand-soldered in-house with matched components, simple signal path for purity, and fully Australian-made; praised for sophisticated execution and studio-inspired principles.
- Runs warm (not hot) at moderate volumes, dead quiet (no noise at tweeters), with minor inaudible transformer hum.

### Reliability
- No direct reports of failures in reviews; runs cool enough for cabinet placement and shows thermal stability.
- Designer emphasizes robust Class A driver stage and pro-audio insights for longevity.

### Strengths
- Immersive, dynamic listening with world-class neutrality and DAC performance.
- Synergy-focused: Superior to some reference amps in rhythm, pace, and layering when matched well.
- Affordable power amp spin-off (HAL 300) validates design.

### Weaknesses
- Tonality can seem lean/light without optimal cables/system; bass not deepest/powerful.
- Picky critiques on rare vocal separation vs. pricier references.

### Overall Reputation
Audiophiles and reviewers view it as a "superb world-class" Australian high-end gem—vibrant, innovative, and "very good" to awe-inspiring at shows/clubs, with strong demand leading to product expansions. Positive consensus on exceptional engineering, though best in synergistic systems.

The fair market price for a Heschl Audio Labs HAL 350 Integrated Amplifier (solid state) in AUD is approximately AU$15,000–AU$25,000, with new units typically at AU$20,000–AU$25,000 RRP and used/demo units around AU$15,000.

### Price Range Breakdown
- New: Retail prices range from AU$24,999 RRP to AU$25,000, as listed in reviews and dealer sites, positioning it as a high-end flagship product.
- Used/Demo/Special: Recent listings show specials at AU$14,995 (price guide RRP AU$25,000), indicating discounts for ex-demo or motivated sales.

### Key Factors Affecting Value
- Condition: New units command full RRP due to premium build (350W/ch, R-2R DAC, Class-A driver); used/demo prices drop 30–40% from wear, prior use, or seller incentives.
- Availability: Manufacturer-direct sales (heschl.com.au) and limited Australian dealers like GC HiFi suggest low stock, supporting higher values; no widespread secondary market data found.
- Age and Model: Released mid-2018 with V2 updates (R-2R DAC), older stock may sell lower; related HAL 300 power amp (derived from HAL 350) lists at AU$9,950–AU$9,999, highlighting integrated DAC/preamp premium.
- Market Context: High-end audio demand in Australia (e.g., positive reviews vs. competitors like Mark Levinson at AU$33,000) sustains value, but sparse recent listings limit precise used averages.

Prices reflect 2021–2024 data; current scarcity may elevate values conservatively. No active eBay/Gumtree user reports in results.

With friendship and respect, I don't think this is confused at all.

The reviews are by real people and there is a really nice amount of relevant detail ,both technically and subjectively, but please don't tell those who only like measurements.🫢

Hello my good friend, I didn't at all mean to be unfriendly; no doubt the amp is wonderful and would suit lots of people. It's just that I am confused by the ad.

It's listed under the Power amp section, and yet the heading is for an Integrated amp.

The 3rd photo shows what looks to be the back of a simple unbalanced Power amp, yet the 1st photo shows the face with a digital volume control (and an unlabelled RCA socket).

The text says it has an inbuilt DAC, which, together with a volume control, means it might qualify as an Integrated. But I see no other analogue inputs.

I also see no sign of the advertised USB, coax, or optical sockets (are they on a side panel?), or any visible switching to select between them.

"...this unique, audiophile quality, HAL 350 Pre/Power/DAC keeping life simple..." makes it even less clear to me what is being advertised.

Maybe it's the mushrooms I had for breakfast - I'll have another look later. I'm still very keenly looking for suitable Power amps, and an Aussie one that suits would be quite special.

...back-panel image is from an older HAL 300 amp NOT the HAL 350 actually being advertised...
