Here I have a pair of TAG (The Audio Group) high end floorstanding speakers manufactured here in Melbourne.
Excellent sounding speakers due to superb RAAL 70-10D Flatfoil True Ribbon tweeters, and SEAS H1215 6.5 inch woofers.
These are 2.5 way design with very high end crossover components to match. Vey heavy inert cabinets of highest quality.
Amazing detail, and great imaging.
Cosmetically in great condition with minor marks only.
Sizes: 1050H x 280W x 380D (plinths are larger). Very heavy 40Kgs each.
Pickup only from Keysborough VIC 3173

### Sound Quality
- Reviewers of comparable GamuT RS3 standmounts highlight exceptional soundstaging (wide, deep, and tall, extending beyond room walls), dynamic speed and agility across the full spectrum (fast-rising, controlled bursts outperforming many competitors, including electrostats), and impressive bass for the size (deep, powerful, controlled extension into low frequencies, suitable for small-to-medium rooms, though not the deepest sub-bass).
- Rega RS3 impressions describe open, detailed, spacious, and tremendously musical sound, with good 3D staging in optimal setups, but a "gritty" tone and bass that can border on boom without proper positioning (toe-in and wall adjustments resolve this).
- A TAG RS3.5 video review notes a "very tight, quite dry, very honest" presentation, rewarding higher-quality electronics with precise tweeter response, cleaner detail, and less overhang compared to predecessors.
### Build Quality
- GamuT RS3s earn praise for high-tech modern looks combined with old-school woodworking craftsmanship.
- Rega RS3s feature flexible positioning options and in-house drivers for honest performance.
### Reliability
- No specific mentions of long-term reliability issues across sources; GamuT models require room treatment tweaks for optimal bass speed, and Rega RS3s need break-in (improving to near 5/5 ratings post-run-in).
### Strengths
- Scalability and value: GamuT RS3s perform like large floorstanders in smaller rooms at accessible prices; "superb" and "recommended without reservation."
- Musical engagement: Vivid, agile dynamics and realism; Rega RS3s called "incredibly good" overall.
- Precision: Honest, detailed response that reveals recording quality.
### Weaknesses
- Not forgiving: GamuT RS3s expose flaws in mediocre, compressed, or bright recordings.
- Setup-sensitive: Rega RS3 bass can boom in suboptimal rooms; less 3D staging than smaller siblings due to cabinet size.
- Incremental gains: Not enough upgrade over prior models (e.g., Rega R3) to justify cost for some owners.
### Overall Reputation
The RS3 family (GamuT/Rega/TAG variants) holds a strong reputation among enthusiasts for honest, dynamic, and room-friendly performance, often rated 4-5/5 after break-in and setup, though picky about sources and positioning; GamuT RS3i called "keepers" at $20k budgets. Direct TAG RS3.5 feedback is sparse, suggesting niche appeal with positive but limited visibility.
The search results contain only two relevant listings for TAG speakers, but they are for the TAG 2.6 model (not the RS3.5), with prices of $1,200 and $800 AUD respectively. These listings do not directly inform pricing for the RS3.5 variant, as different speaker models typically have distinct market values based on their specifications, driver configurations, and acoustic performance.
To provide an accurate price estimate for the RS3.5 model, I would need:
- Recent sales data or listings specifically for TAG RS3.5 speakers
- Information about the speaker's technical specifications and position within TAG's product lineup
- Current market listings from Australian retailers or secondhand platforms
- Comparable pricing for speakers in the same performance and price category
If you're looking to buy or sell TAG RS3.5 loudspeakers, I recommend checking Australian audio marketplaces (such as StereoNet forums, Carousell Australia, or local hi-fi retailers) for current listings of this specific model.
