OK - time to shift these Price reduced. Willing to listen to sensible offers.
I currently have 2 of these in my upstairs cinema room, which rarely gets used, but only need one. Therefore I am up for selling ONE of these.
They are barely used and still have some warranty left (purchased July 2024).
Def Tech make superb subs, and this little 8" works more like a 12", given it has 2 x 8" passive radiators, as well as the 8" driver - driven by a D-class amp that can put out up to 500W peak.
But... being an 8", it is far smaller than a 12" or 10" sub.... making it a bit more discrete to place.
Check the net... the whole DN range gets excellent reviews.
I have the original box, so post should be OK, as they only weigh about 14kgs packed.
I can arrange pickup from 2257, OR Neutral Bay.
Feel free to drop me a Q.

### Sound Quality
Reviewers consistently highlight the DN-8's deep, impactful bass from its 8" woofer, dual 8" passive radiators, and 3XR Architecture, which delivers clear, distortion-free lows down to 35 Hz even at high volumes. Best Buy customers note it fills large rooms, shakes theaters, and excels in music, movies, and gaming, with "tight and precise" output that improves surround sound and replaces bigger subs like 12" models. Many call it surprisingly powerful for its size, blending seamlessly with speakers like B&W or Definitive Technology towers.
### Build Quality
The sub's premium, compact build (12.8" x 12.0" x 13.1") in Glacier White or Midnight Black earns high marks for aesthetics and easy room integration, including fabric covers that resist pet hair. Users appreciate versatile controls (crossover 60-120 Hz, phase, volume), LFE RCA and speaker-level inputs, and energy-efficient Class D amp (500W peak/200W RMS, <0.5W standby).
### Reliability
Limited long-term data exists in reviews, but users report it as a reliable upgrade over problematic subs like Velodyne, with no common failure mentions across 58+ Best Buy ratings (mostly 5-stars). One audio forum notes reasonable specs for the DN-8, suggesting solid engineering.
### Strengths
- Compact power: Punches above its size for medium/large rooms.
- Customization and integration: Easy tuning and connectivity.
- Value: High-end sound at a premium but competitive price.
### Weaknesses
- Overkill for tiny rooms; may overwhelm very small spaces.
- Premium pricing noted as a drawback despite performance.
- Rare lower ratings (e.g., 2/5) exist but lack detail on issues.
### Overall Reputation
The DN-8 enjoys a strong positive reputation among audiophiles and home theater users for revolutionary bass in a stylish, space-saving package, ideal for music or cinema setups. Best Buy reviews average high (many 5/5), with frequent recommendations as an "accompanying" sub that enhances systems without dominating.
