JL Audio Fathom F113 Subwoofer. It is widely considered one of the top subwoofers in the world for a reason.

It is incredibly fast and musical. I have been running this paired with Magnepan planar speakers, and it is one of the few subwoofers on the market fast enough to seamlessly keep up with ribbons. The built-in Automatic Room Optimization (ARO) calibration system is brilliant; it perfectly dials in the bass even if you have a difficult acoustic room or less-than-ideal placement.

Crucially: This unit had its entire amplifier replaced directly by JL Audio (to fix the known hum/capacitor issues that affect older units). The electronics are essentially brand new, making this unit bulletproof for years to come. Full transparency: I have misplaced the physical paper receipt for this repair during my recent move, but the flawless, dead-silent performance of the new amp speaks for itself (see video demonstration).

Note: I am also selling a pair of Magnepan 3.7R speakers. These pair flawlessly together. Happy to negotiate a package price if you are looking for a complete, world-class 2.1 system.

Epic Custom Built 2.4M Long Quarter Folded Horn Subwoofer 

Reluctantly looking to move on big bertha as we like our new neighbours and this thing isn’t suited for high density housing, it’s more suited to a dedicated home theatre room on a large block and/or a nightclub.

Custom designed by Paul @ RedSpade Audio with a no holds barred design brief (https://redspade-audio.blogspot.com/2014/12/hts-215.html). I remember Paul’s comment when he sat down for a listening session after tuning the DSP was “I may have gone a bit overboard!”

Key stats:

To want this subwoofer then you are looking for something ‘a bit overboard’ and the answer is a 2.4 metre long dual 15” horn subwoofer. I know this sub is what a number of people will be itching to have but put off by the effort to do so. 

Looks wise. It has had a basic black spray paint that then we glued a silicone shelf liner on top and the ‘front’ side to make it look quite reasonable behind the couch and you could similarly put it against a rear theatre wall. There is a speaker grille piece with loose speaker cloth on it that you could contact spray and use, I just left it hanging loose as was out of sight and out of mind. So it’s utilitarian but serviceable in terms of looks.

Performance wise it’s everything you’d think from 18hz. The glass downlight covers in the bathroom were attached with magnets, they dropped to the floor and broke the first time I gave the sub the full juice playing the Time track from the Inception movie. You will want a mini DSP or equivalent to get it flat and I'll throw one in if you don't ask too many silly questions like 'can you deliver it'.

Pricing wise I’m looking for 3k, effectively the replacement cost without the effort, design or delay if you were to build  one yourself. The 1000w amp is ~$1100 on nb, the drivers are AUD700 each on wagners and USD600 on parts express with DHL before duties, the cabinet was about 500 before the effort of assembly. I can use the parts in my next project but I figure it’d be a waste for it not to go as is to a good home and cause structural damage and a lot of pleasure somewhere else.

Selling my CT-100 due to simply not using it anymore. This is a weapon of a subwoofer, literally hundreds of reviews about it online. It's big, heavy and hits ridiculously hard. I was never able to run it more than 2/9.

I purchased it a few years ago from the original owner, it's been The Speaker Hospital for a service in 2019,, done prior to me purchasing it.

Bought in late 2020. I moved to an apartment early/mid 2024, and haven’t used it. Decided recently to go to headphones so I can listen how I want without disturbing neighbours.

It’s in its original box, and has been for the past 2 years, so only used for 4 years. The photo included here is of the last time it was out of the box.

In excellent condition. I only ever listened at moderate levels and had 2 subs for better bass distribution.

Up for sale is an SVS SB-2000 Pro subwoofer in the premium Piano Gloss Black finish. I’m moving this (and other equipment) on as I have far too much audio equipment sitting around not being used. Purchased from Melbourne Hi-Fi in 2022, this unit has performed flawlessly and has been meticulously cared for in a smoke-free home. It would suit a buyer looking for something very close to as new condition as can be seen in the pictures.
Comes with all original boxes and accessories. I’m also including the SVS SoundPath Subwoofer Isolation System feet (RRP $109) which claim to improve bass clarity and prevent floor rattles. I didn’t quite believe in this until I installed them and was pleasantly surprised at the difference it made. The SVS app really does make things far easier for dialling the sub in, especially in a 2-channel system which may not have auto-room correction.
