ABOUT THE MONTIS
The Martin Logan Montis model was first released in 2012
I bought these Martin Logan Montis speakers brand new in Dec 2016. The RRP at the time was over $13k. They have been well looked after and remain in perfect condition - unmarked, not faded.
The Montis are the Martin Logan Hybrid type combining an Electrostatic Panel with a 10” Bass Woofer in an enclosed wooden cabinet. There is a dB controller on the rear of the cabinet to control Bass Levels.
Engineered with a single seamless crossover at 340Hz between the Electrostatic Panel & the Woofer. No other crossover is necessary for the Electrostatic Panel in its extensive rated frequency range of 340Hz - 20kHz.
As the Montis has an Electrostatic Panel, both speakers are mains-powered. The original cables are included.
AMPLIFICATION
The 10” Woofer in its sealed cabinet is internally powered by digital amplifier rated at 200w into 4ohm. Your external amp (Valve, SS or Digital) seamlessly works with the woofer’s amp and the Electrostatic Panel.
I have used a range of amplifiers with the Montis: Luxman 505u (100w SS), Devialet 220 Expert Pro (220w digital), Primaluna EVO400 (70w valve A-class) & Musical Fidelity M6 500i (500w SS); even a Hegel H90 (60w). All combinations have worked with ease.
LOCAL PICKUP
The Montis are only offered for Local Purchase as I do not have the original boxes available for long distance shipping by freight.
However, I still have the original full length material covers & the original contoured and very firm foam pieces that were used for internal stabilisation & protection in the shipping boxes. Both the covers & foam pieces are in extremely good condition and I expect they will be very useful in stabilising & protecting the speakers for transport inside a vehicle.
