On offer is our demo pair of Mola Mola Kaluga 400w Mono-block Amplifiers, there would only be a handful of these in Australia and very seldom ever come up for sale. These Class D powerhouses need to be heard to be truly appreciated in not only the power delivery they provide but the way they add to a systems dynamics and sound quality. These impressive mono-blocks will drive the most inefficient speakers around with ease, to say the least, apart from that in back to back comparisons with what are often considered much higher end amplifiers that usually cost way more than twice the Kaluga's RRP price they more often then not end up being voted by those in attendance as the amp of choice.

If you are interested in either purchasing or arranging a demonstration of our demo Kaluga's please contact me.
They come in all original packaging and as demo stock come with factory warranty.

My apologies for the ordinary photos below. Also pictured is a traded in Mola Mola Makua Pre-amp with the Tambaqui DAC module fitted. This is also for sale for anyone looking for a well priced end came combination.

CLASS D HAS NEVER SOUNDED SO GOOD. COME TO THINK OF IT, NEITHER HAS CLASS A
Mola Mola Kaluga Amplifiers are available for audition on the Gold Coast, please contact us at GC HiFi to arrange a private listening session.
Kaluga is based on world's most sought after class D technology: Ncore. Also designed by Bruno Putzeys, this circuit packs 20 years of research and experience into non-linear control theory.  Unprecedentedly low distortion, noise and output impedance combine into what scores of enthusiastic users unanimously describe as “no sonic signature at all”. Just music, glorious music. For instance, the two supposedly unassailable strongholds of class A amplifiers are linearity and output impedance, at high frequencies. Plotted below are the output impedance as a function of frequency and the output spectrum in a high power (400W), high frequency IMD test. In both cases Kaluga outperforms any power amplifier, regardless of technology, operating class or asking price, of which such test results are available.
The amplifier board is a Mola-Mola-specific design deriving from the famous NC1200 amplifier. The audio circuitry is trimmed to the bare bones and board-to-board connectors are eliminated in favour of soldering a pair of star-quad cables directly into the circuit board for the cleanest, lowest impedance connection possible. The input stage is moved to a separate circuit board that uses the same discrete buffers as those found in the Makua. The redesigned output filter sports monolithic capacitors whose dielectric stability is reflected in an impressively neutral and poised rendition.
The days of compromising power efficiency for audio performance are finally over: the Kaluga delivers definitive audio performance with power efficiency thrown in as a bonus.

  4. We have in stock a pair of traded JBL 4367 Studio Monitors in black. These are a one owner pair in very good condition, there are a couple of marks on the tops which if you look carefully can just be seen in the pictures. These impressive speakers sound excellent and deliver a huge wall of sound that is equally at home playing high end refined 2-channel music or just as much in a high end H/T system. Few speakers can achieve both well, the 4367's do just that.
The 4367's are often described as JBL's sweet spot for value for money compared to the high sound quality they deliver, which is no small achievement for speakers that retail for $30,000 here in Australia and are a special order item.
Anyway no need to wait for them to be made and shipped to Australia as these are available now, plus they are also very well priced at less than 50% of RRP.

Any inspection is welcomed, they are presently set up and ready to be heard in action here at GC HiFi. Please give me a call if you would like to either purchase or find out more about these very fine JBL Studio Monitors or to arrange a private listening session.
    cheers,
    Terry

  6. I think that these are great turntables for the money. It’s built like a tank at >13kg, it has fantastic torque and stops and starts very fast, zero bearing noise, bearings on the tonearm are great.

There aren’t many introductory level turntables that do all of that while delivering a driving, open sound. Fit this up with a good cartridge (such as the one below) and some good quality ICs and some resonance control and you’ll have a winner starter 'table for the $$.

I’m selling this fitted with the KAB 1200 silicone fluid damper which makes a considerably improvement to the sound. These currently ~USD$200 / approx $300 AU landed. Also included is a very low hour Nagaoka JT-80lb cartridge.

This has the classic Nagaoka warm sound signature yet much more detailed than the popular MP110. Lid is also included, has some light scratches from general use.

I don't have the box anymore so I would rather local pick up, plus the damper may be tricky to transport. I guess I could drain the fluid if needed.

Mytek Brooklyn AMP Power Amplifier is a major upgrade of the amazing Brooklyn AMP sound. It retains the same type of sound with dynamic and precise transients, extended frequency response, reduced low level distortion and cleaner more natural, spacious and analogue-like character.
    Low Level Detail
Brooklyn AMP features new faster transistors, cutting the so called “switching dead time” to low nanoseconds and faster and higher 650kHz carrier clock. They both contribute to greatly improved low level detail and lower distortion. In addition the output filter frequency has been increased two fold for lighter highs and to better accommodate difficult loads.
    Reference Amplifier
Brooklyn AMP is a reference power amplifier with signature Mytek sound – musical, detailed and transparent. Its dual mono design breaks the sound quality spell associated with Class D and proves a well executed Class D circuits can challenge the best Class A and sound amazing.
The amplifier is packaged in a miniature 1/2 rack enclosure and it’s small enough to fit in a briefcase, yet powerful enough to drive the largest speaker systems. It’s designed to be used as regular stand alone power amplifier or to complement Brooklyn DAC for a complete modern digital streaming and vinyl playback system.
    Mytek Expertise
Mytek engineers with the lead designer, Michal Jurewicz, have demonstrated that a carefully executed Class D can sounds like triode, with beautiful midrange and depth while maintaining deep bass and fast transient and detail. Mytek extensive expertise with DSD, technology similar to digital amplifiers was used in this project.
This architecture allows for packing a lot of power (300W/ch) into small 1/2 rack chassis, small and light enough to be carried around in a briefcase. Existing Brooklyn AMP owners can upgrade their units to Brooklyn AMP specs.
