McIntosh's MHT300 7.2 channel home theatre receiver promises 120 – 150 Watts of McIntosh power to every speaker, with all seven channels being driven. You even get an FM radio tuner!
Wrapped in the unmistakable McIntosh design cues, such as a black glass front panel with an illuminated McIntosh logo, the MHT300 boasts support for 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz video on all four HDMI inputs and HDMI output, promising that the produced image is as realistic as the sound.
Furthermore, the MHT300 is customisable, with its individual amplifier modules configurable in many ways to suit any specific speaker configuration. Additionally, external amplifiers can be connected to power the Height 1 and Height 2 audio outputs, turning the MHT300 into a 7.2.4 home theatre receiver.
Meanwhile, Dirac Live Room Correction enables you to optimise your sound systems and adjust their audio output to the unique acoustics of the space.
The expected McIntosh technologies are also baked in, such as Power Guard signal overload tech, which protects against overdriving and damaging your speakers, and the Sentry Monitor short-circuit protection circuit. Finally, Eco-friendly on/off signal sensing turns the unit off if no input signal has been detected for a set amount of time. It also automatically turns the MHT300 on when it senses a signal from your home theatre processor.
The McIntosh MHT300 is priced at £8,995 when it becomes available from March 2023 (United States and Canada), with the rest of the world following shortly afterwards.
