Uber Light Changes Hands as Advance Audio Takes Over Australia & New Zealand Distribution

The range includes the Uberlight Frame, a lighting product developed specifically for audio applications, as well as the more versatile Uberlight Flex — a model that has already gained a following among vinyl collectors and hi-fi users worldwide.

While lighting is rarely considered a core component of a hi-fi system, Uberlight has found traction by addressing a practical issue familiar to vinyl enthusiasts: visibility. StereoNET previously explored the Uberlight concept in 2025, where we noted that carefully controlled illumination can improve cartridge setup, record handling, stylus inspection, and day-to-day usability, all without intruding on system aesthetics or visual balance.

The Uberlight Flex was originally conceived as a home-friendly, all-purpose LED light. Its adoption within the audio community came about organically after Reliable CEO Robert Kahn used one while inspecting his own record collection.

I noticed how much dust was left behind. Even dead wax was suddenly readable, so I figured, if this is helping me, chances are it could help others as well.

That moment ultimately led to the development of the Uberlight Frame — a more considered lighting solution optimised specifically for home audio systems. Rather than illuminating an entire room, the Frame creates a subtle framing effect around a turntable or component stack, drawing attention to the system itself while maintaining a restrained, furniture-friendly presence.

Beyond its visual appeal, the Uberlight Frame delivers practical benefits for vinyl playback by providing even, adjustable illumination across records, tonearms, styli, and related components. Features include three mounting options, variable brightness and colour temperature settings, and a wireless remote control that also functions as a handheld torch for close inspection.

Advance Audio Australia Director, Nigel Ng, told StereoNET Uberlight’s industrial heritage made it a natural fit for an audio application:

Around 20 years ago, Reliable designed the original Uberlight as a halogen, now LED clamp light for industrial sewing machines. It needed to withstand constant vibration while delivering stable, high-quality illumination. Those same qualities translate extremely well to audio, especially with turntables.

Both Uberlight models will be available via Advance Audio Australia and Advance One (New Zealand) from late February 2026, with dealer pre-orders open now. As for pricing, the Uberlight Flex is set at A$149, while the Uberlight Frame shines at the top of the range at A$649.
