Synergy Audio Visual Takes Over ATC Hi-Fi Distribution in Australia

Synergy Audio Visual has been appointed the official Australian distributor for ATC’s high-end Hi-Fi loudspeaker range, consolidating its representation of the British manufacturer across both Australia and New Zealand.

The Melbourne-based distributor already handles ATC in New Zealand, and this expanded agreement now unifies distribution across both markets.

Founded in the UK in 1974 by Australian engineer Billy Woodman, ATC (Acoustic Transducer Company) has built a reputation for engineering-led loudspeaker design. While the brand is equally respected in professional and domestic audio circles, the new arrangement focuses specifically on ATC’s Hi-Fi loudspeakers and electronics for the Australian market.

ATC’s vertically integrated approach — with drive units and key electronic components designed and manufactured in-house — has long been central to its appeal among serious listeners. Beyond the domestic sector, ATC maintains a significant professional presence, with studios and artists such as Pink Floyd, Mark Knopfler, Coldplay, The Rolling Stones, Abbey Road Studios, and the Sydney Opera House among its clients.
Philip Sawyer, Managing Director of Synergy Audio Visual, framed the move as a natural extension of the company’s premium portfolio:
ATC’s Hi-Fi loudspeakers represent a level of honesty and engineering integrity that is increasingly rare. There is also something special about founder Billy Woodman’s Australian heritage. We are proud to represent ATC’s Hi-Fi range and to support Australian listeners with strong local distribution and expertise.

ATC’s Will Woodman welcomed the appointment, pointing to Synergy’s standing within the specialist audio sector:
Synergy Audio Visual understands the expectations of the high-end Hi-Fi community and shares our commitment to performance and long-term support. We are pleased to partner with Synergy to further develop ATC’s Hi-Fi presence in Australia.
Distribution commences immediately, with dealer appointments and local demonstration opportunities expected to follow.

For Australian enthusiasts, the move should translate into improved access and stronger local support around one of Britain’s most engineering-driven loudspeaker brands. With unified trans-Tasman distribution now in place, we’ll be watching and listening closely as ATC’s Hi-Fi lineup gains renewed focus in 2026.
