Combining the functionality of a preamplifier and audio matrix into one sleek unit, the CR106 delivers the flexibility to enjoy different music in different rooms, all while maintaining high-performance audio for an immersive listening experience.

Controlled via McIntosh's Connect app, you get access to versatile zoning capabilities and easy connectivity to any source component as it pairs with various amplifiers and speakers for custom installations. Naturally, you can also use a web interface or the front-panel controls if you prefer.
Through the app, you can assign zones, with each of the six zones comprising dual unbalanced outputs and dedicated subwoofer outputs. The system supports four analogue and four digital inputs, allows you to select sources, create groups, and customise "experiences".

The compact CR106 is compatible with a variety of amplifiers and speakers and can be easily installed into a standard A/V equipment rack, requiring just 2U of rack space (rack mounting brackets are included). McIntosh suggests matching the CR106 with in-wall or in-ceiling speakers for a discreet installation, and recommends adding the optional MIP200 Power Controller to protect connected audio equipment from potential electrical issues.

Additionally, the unit is scalable, enabling you to link up to five CR106 units through the Dante network interface, creating up to 30 two-channel audio zones. Meanwhile, unbalanced audio outputs allow for connection to custom-installed home audio amplifiers.

Bluetooth is built-in, making any phone or tablet a possible music source with support for AAC, aptX HD, and aptX Adaptive for high-resolution, uninterrupted audio.
The CR106 will be available starting in August through authorised McIntosh dealers with an MSRP of £6,999 | US$5,500 | CA$8,800 | €7,499 | A$11,995 | NZ $14,495.
