It’s an almost perfect harmony of form and function. Almost, as while it will satisfy most consumers, more discerning videophiles have always demanded more in terms of image quality.
However, this may all be about to change, with Samsung announcing the next evolution of its lifestyle television will feature QLED* picture quality. By adding QLED technology to the Frame, Samsung claims the new models offer increased brightness, better black levels and heightened colour contrast.
The inclusion of a motion sensor allows the TV to detect movement in the room, and turn the screen on or off automatically. When not in use, The Frame’s Art mode displays digital pieces of art; its ambient light sensor adjusting both colour and brightness automatically.
Samsung has also expanded the range of art available, with a selection of 1,200 works accessible via the Samsung Art Store at a monthly cost of $5.99. Customers can also display their own photos, with The Frame’s inbuilt memory capable of storing up to 200 photos.
The Frame is customisable with bezels available in either white, brown or beige; 65-inch: $299 / 55-inch $199 / 43-inch $199. The user-friendly design is rounded out by an all-in-one clear cable, designed to minimise the footprint of the television.
Form hasn’t however taken a back seat to function, with The Frame featuring a complement of Smart TV enhancements, including SmartThings, Bixby, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and Apple AirPlay.
The Frame, which comes with an included Slim Fit Wall-Mount is available now for 43” ($1,749 RRP), 55” ($2,699 RRP) and 65” ($3,799 RRP).
