Announced this week by International Dynamics, the Australian and New Zealand distributor for Rotel and Michi, the new lineup comprises the Michi Prestige X430 Integrated Amplifier and Michi Prestige Q430 CD Player, both intended to sit beneath the company’s established Reference Series while maintaining the same focus on build quality, power supply design and low-noise circuitry.

Michi is Rotel’s flagship high-end component brand, created to showcase the company’s most ambitious amplifier and source designs while maintaining the engineering philosophy that has defined the Japanese manufacturer for decades. The new Prestige Series represents the brand’s latest development to broaden access to that platform.
The company says the new models draw directly on technologies and design principles developed for the Reference range, which has built a strong reputation among enthusiasts for its combination of high power output, refined industrial design and robust construction.

According to Michi, the new series targets listeners seeking an entry point into the brand’s ecosystem without stepping into the considerably higher pricing of the Reference components.
MICHI Prestige X430 Integrated Amplifier

At the centre of the new series sits the Michi Prestige X430, a high-power Class AB integrated amplifier designed to drive demanding loudspeakers.
The amplifier is rated at 340 watts per channel into 4 ohms, or 210 watts into 8 ohms, and uses high-current output stages supported by a large custom-manufactured toroidal transformer. Michi says the power supply and signal path layout have been carefully optimised to minimise noise and distortion.

Digital connectivity is handled by an ESS SABRE ES9039Q2M DAC, supporting coaxial, optical and USB inputs, with compatibility for PCM, DSD and DoP formats. The amplifier is also Roon Tested and includes Bluetooth with aptX HD and AAC support.
For integration into modern systems, the X430 adds HDMI ARC with CEC control, allowing the amplifier to function as a simplified TV audio hub.

Additional features include dual subwoofer outputs, A/B speaker switching, a moving magnet phono stage, multiple analogue inputs and a ¼-inch headphone output.
A large full-colour display offers selectable spectrum analyser and VU meter visualisations, while the chassis follows Michi’s familiar industrial design language, featuring a substantial aluminium enclosure and a knurled aluminium volume control.
MICHI Prestige Q430 CD Player

Joining the amplifier is the Michi Prestige Q430 CD Player, designed as a dedicated Compact Disc transport and DAC platform.
The player uses a floating tray-loading transport mechanism intended to minimise mechanical vibration during playback. Michi says this is supported by a multi-stage regulated power supply designed to suppress electrical noise across the signal path.

Digital conversion is handled by an ESS SABRE ES9028PRO DAC, configured in a fully differential topology that assigns four DAC channels to each stereo output. The company says this arrangement lowers the noise floor while improving channel separation and dynamic performance.
Connectivity includes RCA and balanced XLR analogue outputs, along with a coaxial digital output for integration with external DACs. Like the amplifier, the Q430 features a full-colour display, capable of showing CD album artwork alongside playback information.

Both components share Michi’s precision-milled aluminium chassis construction and are supplied with an aluminium remote control.
