The partnership between Drowned in Sound (DiS) and Qobuz brings together two independent organisations with artist-first values. Qobuz becomes the title sponsor of the DiS podcast, providing financial and promotional support. Meanwhile, Drowned in Sound will curate weekly companion playlists on Qobuz, enhancing listeners' music discovery.

As part of this partnership, exclusive interviews will feature Welsh electronic musician and producer Kelly Lee Owens and American singer-songwriter Sofia Isella, who has supported acts such as Tom Odell, Glass Animals, and Taylor Swift since releasing her debut EP in 2020.

Founded in 2000, Drowned in Sound has evolved from a UK-based music ezine and record label to a platform focused on discovery, recommendations, investigative journalism, and building resources for music fans.

Dan Mackta, Managing Director of Qobuz, told StereoNET:

Having been a reader and fan of DiS since the early days of the music blogosphere, I couldn't be happier that Qobuz is able to contribute to its continued evolution and growth.

Sean Adams notes:

This cooperation aligns with everything DiS is about. Qobuz pays artists four times more than other platforms, values human curation, and is independently owned. They’re building a platform for music enthusiasts the way ethical experts recommend. Even the guests on our recent Spotify Exodus podcast episodes agreed that Qobuz is the place to go, and as a user of the platform for several years myself, I’m thrilled to team up. This comes at a time when grassroots media is struggling, and it emboldens our mission to empower music fans, recommend exceptional music, and create solutions-led journalism that builds useful resources.
