Qobuz Ranked Among Fastest-Growing Digital Media Companies

Qobuz has been named a winner in Similarweb’s latest Digital 100 report, placing among the fastest-growing Media & Entertainment companies in both the United Kingdom and the United States.

According to Similarweb’s independent analysis, Qobuz ranked #3 in the UK and #2 in the US within the Media & Entertainment category, driven by triple-digit growth in mobile app usage. The report estimates that Qobuz’s app audience grew by 105 per cent in the UK and 202 per cent in the US between 2024 and 2025.

Similarweb’s Digital 100 report tracks the fastest-growing websites and apps across multiple regions using aggregated data drawn from billions of digital signals. Rankings are based on year-on-year growth rather than absolute scale, with mobile apps assessed by estimated increases in monthly active users across iOS and Android.

Qobuz’s recent momentum follows a period of expansion for the French-founded streaming and download platform, including the rollout of Qobuz Connect, which allows direct streaming to compatible hi-fi components. The feature has been positioned as a way to integrate high-resolution music playback more seamlessly into dedicated audio systems, rather than treating streaming as a phone-centric experience.

Dan Mackta, Managing Director for North America and Northern Europe at Qobuz, said the recognition reflected a pivotal year for the platform and its growing international audience.

Last year was a pivotal one for Qobuz, highlighted by the launch and strong adoption of Qobuz Connect. It’s broadened how our listeners enjoy high-resolution music across hi-fi devices, and we’re grateful to our team and community for driving this momentum.

Similarweb founder and CEO Or Offer said the Digital 100 was designed to highlight companies demonstrating sustained growth rather than short-term spikes.

Any company that can sustain growth by double digits or more over the course of a year deserves recognition,” Offer said, noting that the rankings are based on objective performance data rather than applications or submissions.

Qobuz operates in 26 countries across Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific and Latin America, offering streaming and download access to more than 100 million tracks in lossless and high-resolution formats, including up to 24-bit/192kHz audio. The service has traditionally positioned itself toward listeners using dedicated audio systems, supported by editorial content and curated liner notes alongside its catalogue.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
