Qobuz Launches Android TV App, Bringing Hi-Res Streaming to the Big Screen

Qobuz has announced the launch of its new Android TV app, expanding its reach beyond headphones and hi-fi systems to the heart of home entertainment.

Qobuz has announced the launch of its new Android TV app, expanding its reach beyond headphones and hi-fi systems to the heart of home entertainment. The app is available now via the Google Play Store for all TVs and devices running Google TV.

The new platform grants access to Qobuz’s complete catalogue, including curated playlists, editorial selections, favourites, and personalised recommendations. Every track can be streamed in lossless, CD, or high-resolution quality — the brand’s signature focus on fidelity fully intact. The interface has been optimised for large-screen navigation, offering intuitive browsing for albums, artists, and playlists.

Playback can also be controlled remotely thanks to Qobuz Connect, which allows users to operate the app from their smartphone or tablet while the TV handles the audio output. The feature was part of a broader rollout earlier this year that extended seamless hi-res streaming control across compatible devices, signalling Qobuz’s intent to unify its platform across home and portable listening environments.

Axel Destagnol, Chief Product Officer at Qobuz, told StereoNET:

Our users have been asking us for Android TV for a long time. This app embodies our desire to be accessible wherever people listen to music — from headphones to the living room — while preserving what makes Qobuz unique: audio quality and editorial richness.

The Android TV release follows another 2025 milestone — the debut of the Qobuz Discover portal, a redesigned editorial hub that celebrates the human touch behind streaming by highlighting new artists, albums, and playlists.

Earlier this year, Qobuz also became the first music platform to publish its verified average per-stream payout — US$0.01873 — the highest in the industry, reinforcing its commitment to a sustainable, artist-first model that prioritises fair compensation and sound integrity.

The Qobuz Android TV app is now available on the Google Play Store.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
