The brand has made its mark on everything from affordable bookshelf speakers to high-end floor standers and home cinema systems, even the groundbreaking Q Active wireless series. Now, the British audio specialist turns its expertise to the low-end, unveiling a new range of high-performance active subwoofers designed to bring cinematic and musical bass to any setup.

The new Q SUB series introduces three models: the compact Q SUB80 with an 8-inch driver, the mid-sized Q SUB100 with a 10-inch driver, and the largest in the lineup, the Q SUB120, featuring a 12-inch driver. The company says each subwoofer is built for precision and power, seamlessly integrating with home cinema systems, stereo setups, and even powered speakers.

Q Acoustics has made Digital Signal Processing (DSP) the heart of the new Q SUB range, ensuring tight, distortion-free performance regardless of placement. Advanced tuning options, including a low-pass filter with frequency adjustment from 40Hz to 250Hz, allow for precise integration with any speaker system. Clever phase and delay controls help fine-tune timing alignment, ensuring bass blends seamlessly with the rest of the soundstage. For ease of use, the subwoofers automatically detect the input signal and adjust gain accordingly, meaning less tweaking and more listening.

Beyond performance, the Q SUB range is designed to fit into any home environment. With a sleek, minimalist aesthetic, they’re as happy being tucked away discreetly as they take pride in place in a setup. Available in two timeless finishes being satin Black with a black grille or Satin White with a grey grille, they should have no problem complementing a wide range of interiors .

In the engine room, each subwoofer is powered by a custom-designed amplifier module featuring four digital power amplifier stages in a parallel bridge-tied load (PBTL) configuration. According to Q Acoustics, this innovative design enhances efficiency, improves speaker control, and reduces heat dissipation, allowing the subwoofers to deliver up to 300W continuous and 600W peak power with exceptionally low distortion. The company claims that internal Dart-bracing further enhances cabinet stability, reducing unwanted resonances and ensuring tight, controlled bass even at high volumes.

For those looking to integrate a Q SUB into an existing system, including a 12V trigger input provides seamless power management, allowing automatic power-up when a signal is detected. Multiple standby modes help keep energy consumption low, while an intelligent protection system monitors electronics to safeguard against overheating or excessive strain.

The Q SUB series rounds out Q Acoustics’ subwoofer lineup, sitting alongside the slimline 3060S. It delivers deep, immersive bass for music and movies. With a sealed cabinet design for precise, punchy, low-end response and a focus on effortless system integration, Q Acoustics highlights these new models bring a new level of performance to its setups and beyond.

Q Acoustics Q SUB series is available now. The SUB80 (8-inch) is priced at £599, €749, US$899. The SUB100 (10-inch) is priced at £699, €875, US$1,049. The SUB120 (12-inch) is priced at £799, €999, US$1,199.
