Origin Live has many fans at StereoNET, and it is great to see the British brand finally making it to the Munich show, thanks to its German distributor, High Fidelity Studio.

Origin Live Renown Tonearm High End Munich 2024

The High Fidelity Studio system will include Origin Live's Conqueror tonearm mounted on the Applause Award-winning Sovereign-S turntable. Its ultra-low friction bearing can spin for three minutes with no drive. Additionally, the Sovereign-S features a high-mass sandwich plinth, a decoupled belt drive, and a multi-layer platter, all of which represent the company's design ethos. The Sovereign-S and Conqueror will play alongside a static display of three other OL decks.

One of the British company's most anticipated debuts at High End Munich 2024 is Renown, Origin Live's pinnacle of tonearm engineering. This masterpiece pushes the boundaries of tonearm design with its strikingly extended, hollowed yoke and bearing assembly, and innovative material composition and coatings of the arm tube. It features the familiar dual pivot bearing, inner/outer pillar VTA flywheel, and falling weight side bias, along with a new addition-the asymmetric Multi-Layer Counterweight. This counterweight, inspired by the concepts used on their turntables multi-layer platters and the new Strata multi-layer platter mat, employs multiple layers to reduce resonances through vibrational interference.

Furthermore, Origin Live reckons its Renown is "possibly the most elegant tonearm in the category" while making no compromises in its form-follows-function design.

The Renown ultra-high-end tonearm is available for £26,000 worldwide.
