Best known for its studio monitors and high-end loudspeakers, Dynaudio’s involvement signals a step up for a category that has largely prioritised convenience over outright sound quality.
According to OPPO, the Enco Clip2 has been jointly tuned by its in-house acoustic team and Dynaudio’s chief sound engineer, resulting in a dedicated “Dynaudio Signature” profile that delivers a more natural, live-style presentation. Whether that translates in an open-ear format, where isolation is inherently limited, needs to be tested.

Technically speaking, the hardware goes further than most clip-style designs. The Enco Clip2 uses a coaxial dual dynamic driver setup, pairing 9mm and 11mm drivers with independent DACs for each earbud. It’s an unusual configuration at this level, suggesting OPPO is taking the acoustic side more seriously than the category typically demands.

Support for LHDC 5.0 brings Hi-Res Audio certification into the mix, alongside a 6nm AI-driven chipset designed to handle adaptive tuning and what OPPO describes as “dipole sound field” processing, aimed at reducing sound leakage. As always with this format, how much of that holds up in real-world listening is likely to be the deciding factor.

Physically, the design supports comfort and flexibility. Each earbud weighs just 5.2 grams and uses a shape-memory nickel-titanium arc designed to adapt across a wide range of ear shapes, something OPPO says is based on analysis of more than 3,500 ear profiles. In a less typical move, the buds are fully symmetrical, meaning there’s no fixed left or right, with channel assignment handled automatically.

Battery life is quoted at up to 9.5 hours per charge, extending to 40 hours with the case, while an IP55 rating covers basic dust and water resistance. AI-led features also make an appearance, including real-time translation, swipe-based volume control and voice-focused processing for calls via bone-conduction microphones.

The Enco Clip2 lands in a category that has expanded rapidly at the lower end, with plenty of sub-$100 options now available. OPPO’s approach here is clearly more premium, sitting just below its own Enco X-series in-ear models but well above the budget clip-on crowd.

Whether Dynaudio’s involvement can meaningfully lift performance in a format that prioritises openness and situational awareness over outright fidelity is the real question and one that will likely define how this lands beyond the spec sheet.

The OPPO Enco Clip2 is available now in Luminous Gold and Slate Grey finishes, priced at A$299 | €179 | £149.
