NuPrime PRA-9X Pre-Amp Lands in the UK

NuPrime's PRA-9X fully-balanced preamplifier with MM phono stage is available in the UK via ADMM Distribution's network.
NuPrime's PRA-9X is touted as a high-end performance, fully balanced stereo preamplifier with the addition of high-quality MM phono input and 6.3mm headphone output for increased source flexibility.

Alan Ainslie, Managing Director of ADMM, told StereoNET:
The PRA-X9 offers the performance and build the industry has come to expect from NuPrime, with the added bonus of vinyl record integration via a very high-quality RIAA adjustable phono input, configurable for load and capacitance. True balanced input and output allows integration into high-end balanced systems and makes driving active speakers so simple. All in a stylish compact housing matching NuPrime 9 series components.

The NuPrime PRA-9X is a fully balanced preamplifier designed for ultra-low distortion performance, boasts the manufacturer.
The PRA-9X includes line outputs using four of NuPrime's new amplifier modules, which the company states boast an impressively low Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of only 0.0004% at 7.5Vrms. Furthermore, NuPrime's next-generation current booster circuit promises an excellent 114dB Signal-to-Noise Ratio (S/N).

Not only does the PRA-9X take maximum advantage of a fully balanced design, but it also provides for its input and output a special audio relay switch, which has the lowest interference and highly accurate transmission during source switching.

Vinylistas get the added bonus of a moving magnet phono input. This two-stage RIAA amplifier utilises the NJR MUSES8820 op-amp to provide an accurate RIAA curve and low distortion at high amplification for top performance. Naturally, the phono input has a variety of settings for input resistors and capacitors to match a wide range of different MM cartridges. Meanwhile, head-fi fans are accommodated thanks to a 1/4-inch (6.3mm) headphone output.
Additionally, the PRA-9X analogue preamp features two stereo RCA pairs and one stereo XLR pair inputs, while outputs consist of one stereo RCA pair and one stereo XLR pair.

The easy-to-read front panel display shows the status of input source selection and volume control setting, which can be changed with the included ergonomically designed wireless remote. An input and output trigger offer power on/off control for convenient system integration.
The NuPrime PRA-9X is available now for £1,199 in Black and Silver finishes.
