At a time when streaming dominates, the company sees continuing demand from listeners who want uncompromising playback of their existing CD collections, and the PD-507T is aimed squarely at that audience.

At its core is TEAC’s own CD-5020A mechanism, a transport with a proven track record in professional broadcast use. By focusing purely on digital output and leaving digital-to-analogue conversion to an external DAC, the PD-507T is intended to deliver a cleaner, more refined signal. TEAC houses the mechanism in a semi-floating mounting structure with custom drive circuitry, supporting the claim of reference-grade playback. The new model is also pitched as the natural partner for TEAC’s recently launched UD-507 DAC, preamplifier, and headphone amplifier.

Engineering refinements include disabling unused digital outputs to reduce potential noise, while each clock and output stage has its own independent power supply. The PD-507T also offers compatibility with TEAC’s CG-10M-X master clock generator via a 10MHz BNC input, aimed at users seeking even greater precision. A full-dot amber OLED display, matching the rest of the Reference 500 Series, improves visibility and system integration.

Connectivity is kept straightforward, with coaxial and optical digital outputs provided. Inside, a toroidal-core transformer with independent rectifier circuits powers the motor, pickup, and digital stages. At the same time, TEAC’s “stress-less isolation feet” and semi-floating top panel are claimed to help control vibration and preserve tonal balance. A low-phase-noise crystal oscillator governs clock accuracy, and the transport supports disc playback across CD, CD-R, and CD-RW formats.

Usability features include normal, repeat, shuffle, random, and programmed playback modes, all accessible from the supplied RC-1338 remote control. The device's dimensions are 290 × 84.5 × 248.8 mm, weighing 4 kg. Power consumption is rated at 4W during operation and just 0.3W in standby.

Available in black or silver finishes, the TEAC PD-507T CD Transport will ship from October of 2025 and will be priced at US $1,699.99 | £1,299 | €1,299.
