Show organisers told StereoNET:

Although there will be many well-known AV brands [at the show], they make up a smaller percentage of the whole and it was felt that the time had come to drop ‘Vision’ from the name.

The organisers said that in previous years there had been a trend for manufacturers to display home-cinema and vision products at the show, but that, in more recent times, the event had seen a return to two-channel hi-fi.

This perhaps underlines the sometimes circular nature of the industry as the show actually started out as a two-channel event called Hi-Fi ’87.

Touted as the largest and longest-running consumer hi-fi show in the UK, the event is held every February, at the Marriott City Centre Hotel in Bristol.

The 32nd Bristol Hi-Fi Show will take place from Friday, February 22 to Sunday, February 24, 2019. The StereoNET UK team will be on hand covering all aspects of the show.
