
The UK specialist has built its reputation around network filters, streaming cables and related accessories designed to reduce unwanted electrical noise in digital audio systems.
The new Muon2 Ethernet Filter and Muon2 Streaming Cable are designed to work either individually or together as part of a complete Muon2 streaming chain. They join the Muon2 Precision Network Switch, which Network Acoustics positions as its reference network switch and lists as available to pre-order, with shipping due to begin in June 2026.

According to Network Acoustics, the Muon2 Ethernet Filter is built around a new 8-core architecture rated for operation at speeds up to 2.5Gb/s. At its centre is a four-stage cascaded filtering system, designed to address both differential noise, which can interfere with the data signal, and common-mode noise, which can radiate electromagnetic interference through a system.
The company says the revised circuit has also been developed to avoid self-induced electrical ringing, with an integrated grounding system intended to draw noise away from the signal path. As ever with products in this category, the claimed benefit is not changing the digital data itself, but reducing the unwanted electrical noise that can travel along with it.

Network Acoustics co-founder Rich Trussell said the Muon2 project required more than simply designing a quieter Ethernet filter:
With the Muon2 Filter and Streaming Cable, we set out to consider every component part holistically. The circuit must remove as much noise as possible from the analogue signal that represents the ones and zeros of the digital code, without losing or damaging the signal itself. But just as important are vibration control, enclosure material, isolation, and the cable that makes the final connection with the streamer.
One of the more intriguing elements is the Muon2 Ethernet Filter’s solid beechwood enclosure. Network Acoustics says it tested a range of metals and polymers before settling on beech, arguing that its damping behaviour made it better suited to controlling micro-vibration without adding unwanted sonic character. Each enclosure is precision-milled from a single piece of beechwood by high-end loudspeaker manufacturer Auer Acoustics.

The filter also uses Network Acoustics’ new Pyramid Isolators. These are hand-machined from hardened silicate minerals and shaped to a point, with the company claiming they help isolate the unit from surface-borne vibration. Again, this reflects the brand’s broader argument that network audio performance is influenced not only by electrical design, but also by mechanical grounding, enclosure behaviour and cable construction.
Network Acoustics co-founder Rob Osbourn said beechwood was chosen for its damping behaviour rather than its appearance:
Beech is made up of short, tightly compacted fibres that act like a bundle of microscopic acoustic springs, which force vibrational shockwaves to spread across countless cellular boundaries and be rapidly absorbed. Beech neutralises background vibrational noise, making it the perfect choice for Muon2’s enclosure.
The matching Muon2 Streaming Cable has been developed both as the final link between the Muon2 Ethernet Filter and a streamer or network switch, and as Network Acoustics’ new reference Ethernet cable in its own right.

It also uses the company’s new 8-core architecture and is rated for speeds up to 2.5Gb/s. The cable introduces what Network Acoustics describes as a new high-purity conductor, precision-wound and damped using a multi-layered cotton and silk dielectric. Proprietary shielding is grounded only at the source end, while Telegärtner Japan gold connectors are used at the termination points.
Osbourn also pushed back against the idea that Ethernet cabling is irrelevant in a high-end streaming system:
Streaming may still seem to some like a simple matter of ones and zeros, but whether used alone or alongside the Ethernet Filter, the Muon2 Streaming Cable is as close as we can get to the perfect Ethernet cable. It is audible proof that designing a cable specifically for streaming music, to preserve the timing and purity of the signal, can transform a recording into a live performance.
The Muon2 Ethernet Filter is supplied with a 1.0m Muon2 Streaming Cable as standard, while the Muon2 Streaming Cable can also be purchased separately in a standard 1.5m length. Network Acoustics is also offering a Muon2 Streaming System package, combining the filter with 1.0m and 1.5m Muon2 Streaming Cables.

Pricing is set at £4,995 | €5,799 | US$5,799 for the Muon2 Ethernet Filter package, while the Muon2 Streaming System is priced at £6,495 | €7,499 | US$7,499. The standalone 1.5m Muon2 Streaming Cable is priced at £2,595 | €2,999 | US$2,999. For context, the Muon2 Precision Network Switch sits above these at £6,995 | €7,999 | US$7,999, positioning the full Muon2 network range firmly in the upper end of the streaming accessories market.
