As the first model in the freshly minted Compass Collection, the 371 sets out to redefine the modern integrated system by combining amplifier, preamplifier, DAC, network player and phono stage into one elegantly crafted chassis. It's also great to see the option of silver or black shoulders returning to new MOON products.

Equipped with MOON’s MiND 2 streaming platform, the 371 provides seamless access to Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer and Spotify. It is also Roon Ready and fully compatible with AirPlay, as well as Qobuz, Tidal, and Spotify Connect. Bluetooth support broadens connectivity, while vinyl enthusiasts are well served by a built-in phono stage that accommodates both MM and MC cartridges.

This design draws directly on MOON’s acclaimed standalone stages, such as the 810LP, promising precise and faithful analogue reproduction.

Although the Compass Collection sits below MOON’s flagship North range, it benefits directly from trickle-down technology. The 371 is the first amplifier to feature both the proprietary MHP (MOON Hybrid Power) and MDCA (MOON Distortion Cancelling Amplifier) technologies. The MHP delivers ultra-stable power to the circuitry, while MDCA virtually eliminates distortion and improves linearity for cleaner, more dynamic sound. With 100W per channel into 8 ohms (200W into 4 ohms), a frequency response of 5Hz–100kHz (+0/-3dB), and a weight of 9kg, the 371 is no lightweight in either performance or construction.

Etienne Gautier, MOON’s Chief Commercial Officer, told StereoNET:

The 371 represents the future of modern audio. By listening closely to the valuable feedback of our customers and partners, we’ve developed a fresh approach to creating a MOON product. It delivers uncompromising performance and striking aesthetics in a single component, all at a price point that opens the door to premium audio for many music lovers for the first time.

The Compass Collection itself builds upon 2023’s North line, which introduced six models across integrated, preamplifier and power amplifier categories, including the impressive 791/761 and 891/861 pairings. Positioned just below that flagship range, Compass is conceived as both a new entry point and a guide—its very name intended to symbolise direction towards high-end audio. Its logo underlines the metaphor, pointing enthusiasts on their journey into premium sound.

Future Compass models will continue to draw from North Collection technologies while adopting a more approachable philosophy. Premium build quality, modern styling, intuitive control via the MiND app or the new CRM-4 aluminium remote, and the security of a 10-year warranty all reinforce Simaudio’s Canadian identity and promise of longevity.

Beyond the circuitry, the 371 is designed with ease of use in mind. A bold 17-centimetre colour display shows album artwork, track data and settings, while the low-profile chassis—hand-built and tested in Canada—maintains the same meticulous standards as the brand’s higher-end designs.

The MOON 371 is available now through authorised retailers, priced at US$6,500 | CA$8,800 | €6,800 | £6,250.
