Magico’s S7 2026 Delivers a Heavyweight Finale for the S Series

Magico has revealed the S7 2026, a technically ambitious new floorstander that represents the most advanced evolution of its acclaimed S Series.

At 174kg per speaker (or 384 pounds) in the company’s own words, the S7 2026 is unapologetically monumental. Configured as a five-driver, three-way acoustic suspension design, it becomes the largest and most technically ambitious loudspeaker in the S range to date.

The S Series was reshaped in 2023 with the S3, followed by the S5 and, later, the more compact S2. With the S7 2026, Magico positions this as the platform’s ultimate expression.

The development story will sound familiar to those tracking Magico’s upper-tier models. The S7 was measured using a Near-Field Scanner (NFS) system to map its full 3D acoustic output, analysing both on- and off-axis behaviour. That same measurement discipline underpins the company’s M Series, suggesting the S7 is as much a technology transfer exercise as it is a range finale.

The cabinet remains central to the design philosophy. The enclosure uses curved aluminium panels, machined from substantial extrusions, with internal bracing positioned to control resonances. Magico says laser vibrometry was employed during development to identify and eliminate minute cabinet vibrations before production.

Internal volume increases from 135 litres to a considerable 180 litres compared with the previous S Series flagship, extending bass response by a claimed additional 5Hz while maintaining the same sensitivity. That should translate to a lower-frequency reach without a penalty in efficiency, though at 88dB sensitivity into a 4-ohm load, amplification remains a serious consideration.

A browse through the specifications tells us that driver technology is where much of the S7’s evolution lies. At the top end sits a 28mm diamond-coated pure-beryllium tweeter derived from the M Series, using a neodymium motor system and FEA-optimised geometry. The midrange driver measures 6 inches (152mm) and employs Magico’s Nano-Tec Gen 8 cone construction, which translates to an aluminium honeycomb core sandwiched between graphene-reinforced carbon fibre skins. The material blend, developed with carbon nanotube and nanographene input, is claimed to be significantly lighter and stiffer than earlier designs.

Bass is handled by three 10-inch (254mm) woofers, each featuring a 5-inch titanium voice coil and substantial linear excursion capability. The vertical alignment of the three woofers is intended to mitigate floor-bounce effects and smooth in-room response, a practical nod to real-world placement challenges rather than purely sound-lab optimisation.

Integration is via Magico’s Elliptical Symmetry Crossover (ESXO), employing 24dB Linkwitz-Riley acoustic slopes and premium components from Mundorf, with Duelund CAST PP capacitors appearing in an S Series model for the first time.

Physically, the S7 stands just under 1.42 metres tall and measures over 58cm wide, tipping the scales at 174kg per speaker. Installation will clearly require planning and likely professional assistance. With a recommended power range of 50W–1000W into a 4-ohm load, suitable amplification will need to be carefully considered to extract the S7’s full potential. Specified frequency response is 20Hz–50kHz, placing it firmly in full-range territory without reliance on external bass reinforcement.

The S7 2026 doesn’t attempt to reinvent the S Series philosophy. Instead, it consolidates it, drawing confidently from the M Project’s engineering playbook and applying that knowledge to what has long been Magico’s more attainable reference tier. If this marks the culmination of the S Series as we know it, it does so as a celebration rather than a farewell — not with incremental refinement, but with scale, substance and unmistakable intent.

Shipping is scheduled for Q3 2026. There are two finish levels with six curated colours in each: ‘Softec’ with a UK RRP of £159,000 per pair, and ‘High Gloss’ with a UK RRP of £178,000 per pair (inc. VAT). Further pricing to be announced soon.
